3 Day Startup Texas State
Center for Entrepreneurial Action
November 13-15, 2015
Sponsored by Ms. Laura Kilcrease, Interim Director, Center for Entrepreneurial Action;
Dr. David Cameron, Dr. Jana Minifie, and Dr. Mary Spaeth
This event was held to teach entrepreneurial skills to university students in an intense
hands-on setting. This proven program provides students the tools they need to start
successful companies. Participants gained experience in cross-disciplinary collaboration,
brainstorming and ideation, group productivity, ad-hoc leadership and decision-making
under time constraints that stimulate creativity and innovation.
In order to participate in 3DS, students went through a short application process. In the
end, 112 students applied while 86 places were offered. Out of these students, 51 were in
attendance—37 undergraduate students, 11 graduate students, & 3 doctoral students.
For pictures of the event this year and future information regarding 3DS,
please view their website and Facebook page.
