There are three course levels: AP, Honors, and College Prep

Curricula

Sequential courses are available in all college preparatory subjects and in a board-range of Fine Arts and Career/ Technical course electives. The lab science courses are Biology, AP/UConn Biology, Botany, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, AP Physics, Marine Biology and AP Environmental Sciences, Matter and Motion, Forensic Science, Personalized Medicine and Genomics, Environmental Science, Physical/Earth Science

Advanced Placement Examinations

In 2020, 499 AP examinations in 21 different subject areas

were administered. 78% of the scores were three or higher.

The total number of Scholars is 85. 37 AP Scholars, 19 AP

Scholars with Honors, 29 AP Scholars with Distinction, 5

National AP Scholars.

COVID-19 Grading Practices

Due to the abrupt and extended school closure during the COVID-19

Pandemic in spring 2019-20, students were issued two grades for year-

long courses on the high school Transcript: (1) The semester one letter

grade and (2) Pass/No Credit for the entire year, based on the yearly

average. All semester-long courses in semester two were graded as

Pass/No Credit. GPA calculation for 2019-20 includes grades from

semester one only.
