Elizabeth ruled the countrywithout Parliament for most of thetime. In her 44 year reignParliament met for only 36 months.
Elizabeth used paintings of herselfto send messages to her people.This is known as gloriana. Thepictures told of a good, wonderful,wise, beautiful ruler.
