PROGRAM OVERVIEW
At Munich Business School,
your initiative and curiosity
will pay off – and combined
with the state-of-the-art
business background our
coursework provides, you’ll
walk away a well-rounded,
globally conscious, and in-de-
mand business person. (No
wonder we’ve received so
many high rankings.) You get
the best of both worlds: a
tightly structured curriculum,
and the freedom, within that
structure, to explore the
areas that fascinate you.
9
TIMEFRAME
At Munich Business School, you get to choose. The study
option Bachelor MORE can be completed in three com-
pact years and will take you abroad for one semester. This
is an interesting choice for students who plan to deepen
their business education in a subsequent Master’s degree
program or simply prefer an intense but short path to their
first degree. If you opt for the Bachelor GLOBAL, you’ll
spend a second semester as well as a second integrated
internship in a foreign country, thus accumulating even
more career relevant experience and improving your
foreign language skills to a proficient level. This study
option can be completed in three and a half years.
BUSINESS FOUNDATION
You’ll leave Munich Business School with a lot more than a
bachelor degree: thanks to our faculty of corporate pro-
fessionals, you’ll have a rock-solid theoretical basis, as well
as fresh insight on how those fundamentals get applied to
real-world business situations. With three internships (at
least one local and one abroad) under your belt, you’ll have
substantial work experience in the business world. And
you’ll be equipped with the “soft skills” – communicating
effectively, working well within teams – that are gaining
currency. It’s this deeply integrated combination of theory
and practice that makes exceptional business people. And
that’s what Munich Business School stands for.
CONCENTRATIONS
Do you keep an eye on the stock market? Do clever
marketing concepts ever get you excited? Are you fasci-
nated with the media? Munich Business School offers six
different concentrations to channel your growing business
interests and skills. Choose between International Mar-
keting and Sales, International Financial Management,
International Media Management, International Human
Resources Management, International Accounting, and
International Corporate Governance. Better yet – you’ll
get to choose two programs, so that you’ll enter the
marketplace with a broad, diverse skill set.
INTERNATIONAL FOCUS
Set sail! Your coursework here in Munich and abroad will
enrich you with a truly global take on business. Students
who choose to study in English will follow the Germany
and European Union focus. And if you are fluent in
German, we offer six other focuses spanning Asia-Pacific,
Arabic Countries and Middle East, Russia and Eastern
Europe, Spain and Latin America, France and Franco-
phone Countries, and Italy. All students will choose from
our extensive list of language courses and learn a new ton-
gue – and if you’re up for it, you can give yourself an even
bigger competitive edge by taking on a third language. For
your semester(s) abroad, you will study at a partner uni-
versity and take on an internship that immerses you in that
region’s culture, language, and business practices.
EVERYDAY EXCELLENCE PAYS OFF
We encourage our students to bring their “A-game” to
class every day – not just when finals week comes around.
That’s why we put more value in smaller tests spaced re-
gularly throughout each semester. 40% of your final grade
will be based on these Continued Performance Tests, while
the other 60% comes from your finals. This means it’s al-
ways worth it to give your best. Raise your hand, team up
with your classmates, tackle your projects with passion –
and maybe you won’t have to spend those last weeks of
the semester trapped in the library.

that the MBS Bachelor program perfectly prepares
for a successful professional future.”

CONCENTRATIONSIN THE INTERNATIONALBUSINESS STUDY PROGRAM
As a new undergraduate, you probably
don’t have your career path staked out
already. That’s why our range of study
programs is designed to cultivate your
skills in areas that pique your interest. In
addition to general business courses, our
students can choose two of our six areas
of business concentrations.
So ask yourself: “Which concentrations
excite me the most?”
15
INTERNATIONAL
MARKETING AND SALES
Marketing and sales as standard operational areas deal with
the distributive trades of a company. The concentration In-
ternational Marketing and Sales conveys to students both the
basic methods and instruments of marketing and a general
understanding of marketing in an international environment
from a strategic and operational point of view.
Job Profile: The quality of customer and market relationships
will always be a decisive factor of success for companies. This
is why skilled employees and leaders are required who are
able to develop an understanding of various value chains and
to combine market- and customer-oriented actions with the
effective use of resources and the application of administrative
control mechanisms.
Demanding fields of activity include: Head of marketing,
product management, key account management, marketing
controlling, market research.
INTERNATIONAL
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
In an increasingly globalized world of finance, international
businesses and financial institutions are looking for qualified
employees with a sound knowledge of controlling, corporate
finance and asset management. The aim of the concentration
is therefore to convey to the students the methods, tools and
instruments of the international world of finance in the 21st
century and to ideally prepare them for professional and
leadership tasks in the area of finance.
Job Profile: A sound knowledge of financial valuations and
strategic financial management opens up excellent job
opportunities in companies, valuation and investment
organizations as well as in corporate finance.
Demanding fields of activity include: Finance department of
a company, investment/commercial/private bank, insurance
company, investment funds.
INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTING
The International Accounting concentration conveys
knowledge on the basics of international accounting and the
differences between the important accounting methods. The
participants learn about the conception of the IASB and IFRS,
the requirements for IFRS-compliant balancing and accoun-
ting of selected circumstances in individual financial state-
ments according to IFRS.
Job Profile: Knowledge of international differences and
specifics is of growing significance for companies due to their
increasing integration into international supply chains and
markets. Learning about these issues opens up excellent
career opportunities to graduates of this module.
Demanding fields of activity include: Auditing, tax consul-
tancy, portfolio and risk management, management of inter-
national accounting and financing.
INTERNATIONAL HUMAN
RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
In the International Human Resources Management concen-
tration students gain a better understanding of the strategic
significance of human resource management for organizati-
ons — especially on an international level. As future leaders
they are to familiarize themselves with the topic of
“employees as a critical success factor” and with topics of
employee leadership and development.
Job Profile: Training and retention of good employees is of
growing importance for companies. This is why skilled
employees and managers are required who think and act stra-
tegically. The significance of leadership qualities is increasing,
especially on an international level — in many cases they are
the prerequisites for a successful implementation of projects
in international teams.
Demanding fields of activity include: Middle and senior
management, project and team management, recruitment
consultancy, change manager.
INTERNATIONAL MEDIA
MANAGEMENT
This concentration familiarizes with the special characteristics
of the media industry and, apart from business-related topics,
conveys important basics on communication theory. The
participants deal with the economic peculiarities of infor-
mation goods and media and get to know the practical
consequences on the media business.
Job Profile: This concentration comprehensively prepares
participants for a commercial occupation in the media/
communications sector. By conveying economic competence
as well as media-specific knowledge in a practical way, it is
oriented toward the multi-disciplinary requirements in this
working environment.
Demanding fields of activity include: Radio and television
broadcasters, advertising and communications agencies,
publishing houses, marketing departments.
INTERNATIONAL
CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
Students are taught methods of contingency planning and risk
management, which, however, is not considered from the
perspective of financial management in this module. They are
introduced to techniques and models for corporate analyses,
strategic orientations and the development of scenarios for
the development of organizations.
Job Profile: Questions of strategic and operational Corporate
Governance are relevant for managers in companies of all
sizes from start-ups to international enterprises. Knowledge
and handling of the most important aspects of this topic
belong to the basic skills of all future managers with strategic
ambitions.
Demanding fields of activity include: Managing director,
executive assistant, division manager, business development,
company founder, business consultant.

berufliche Möglichkeiten in internationalen Wirtschafts-
unternehmen und Organisationen. Vorkenntnisse auf der
Lernstufe A 2 werden bei Studienbeginn vorausgesetzt. Die
MBS bietet Vorbereitungskurse für absolute Anfänger an.
FRANCE & FRANCOPHONE COUNTRIES
Italieni-
Finanzwelt. Für absolute Anfänger bietet die MBS vor
Studienbeginn Vorbereitungskurse an.

BACHELOR IN
INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS:
MORE HIGHLIGHTS
If you open the doors to our classrooms,
you’ll most likely see students engaging in
debates or putting their heads together
to tackle a tough business assignment.
At Munich Business School, we firmly be-
lieve that the more you are personally in-
vested in a task, the more you take away
from it. That’s why many of our courses
include lively, hands-on projects that en-
courage both collaboration and competi-
tion. Learn how to put your ego aside and
work within a team. Enjoy the thrills of
success, and allow yourself to occasio-
nally fail without succumbing to defeat.
21
SOCIAL PROJECT
Social responsibility starts with the person in the mirror.
And at Munich Business School, you’ll get the chance to
develop your social consciousness while learning how to
build a business project. When you take this course, you’ll
get to plan a project related to a social or non-profit cause
and bring it to life as part of a team (take a look at the pho-
tos to see other MBS bachelor students bringing their so-
cial projects to life). In the process, you’ll pick up some
crucial project management skills. We are proud to pro-
mise you that the knowledge and experience you gain du-
ring your Bachelor work will help you to make a difference
in the world.
INTERNATIONAL
BUSINESS GAME
Next to heading up an actual company, this computer-
based business game – also used by some of the world's
largest companies – is the best way to understand the
inner workings of corporations. Create a virtual enterprise
as part of a team, put your management instincts to the
test, and see how every decision affects the entire com-
pany. Your goal: increase the market value of your busi-
ness until you’ve overtaken the competition. You’ll come
face to face with the joy of success and the anger that
comes with failure. And what you’ll learn will stay with
you throughout your career.
BUSINESS PLAN
In the corporate world, every idea needs a business plan to
come to life. Done right, it can both persuade potential
investors to get involved and help entrepreneurs to
fine-tune their strategy. In short, a business plan helps a
company start out on the right foot. During our workshop,
you and your team will create a business plan based on
the economic knowledge you’ve gained so far. It’s an
exciting challenge that our students welcome. The best
part? This is much more than a trial run. Some of the
business plans developed during this workshop have
helped to get real startups going.
INTERNSHIPS
The three mandatory internships at companies in Ger-
many and abroad provide many of our students with their
first glimpse of the inner workings of a corporation. You’ll
apply your growing business knowledge in the setting of a
real company and quickly learn how to become a contri-
buting member of a team of professionals. That’ll ensure
that you leave Munich Business School not only with your
first academic degree, but also with real work experience.
PROFESSIONAL FACULTY
Many members of our faculty commute between the class-
room and the boardrooms of international corporations.
This means that you’ll work with up-to-date business con-
cepts and learn about precisely those best practices that
help companies succeed today. In addition, our faculty’s
strong networks are a valuable asset to students looking for
internships or partner companies for their theses.
ECONOMIC AND
CULTURAL HISTORY
You’ll build a solid foundation of business knowledge and
experience at Munich Business School – that goes without
saying. But we also provide you with a “big picture” per-
spective on how historical developments affect current
events. The course “Economic and Cultural History,” a part
of your curriculum for four semesters, has become a cult
subject among our Bachelor students, in spite of the con-
siderable workload. It will help you to grow into a well-
rounded individual who’s in the know about the business
world – and the world at large.
Jan Runau
Head of Corporate Communication, adidas Group
“In our communication management course we
consistently combined theoretical knowledge with
practical application e.g. by simulating a press
conference. It was fantastic to see how the students
realized this project.”

STUDENT LIFE
Here at MBS, we’ve got every-
thing you need to work hard,
play hard, and begin your
journey to corporate success.
Munich is a university city
that’s also host to dozens of
corporate headquarters.
Every day, the city hums with
the energy of students like
you hurrying to class and dis-
cussing projects in sidewalk
cafés. At night and at the
weekends, you´ll find those
same people competing at
sports, dancing up a storm at
the club or throwing dinner
parties.
THE INTERNATIONAL BUDDY PROGRAM
The International Buddy Program is a student initiative which supports
the International Office as well as the International Programs at MBS. This
initiative serves as an exchange platform for new international students
and current MBS students.
The main goals of the Buddy Program are:
❚ To better integrate new international students at Munich
Business School by connecting them with current MBS students,
or so-called ‘Buddies’
❚ An opportunity for current MBS students to be a mentor of and
network with international students from partner universities
worldwide where they can spend their semester abroad
❚ To learn about each other cultures and customs, improve or learn
foreign languages, and gain new friends worldwide
Joint activities include welcome and good bye events, excursions to cities
in Germany or neighboring countries, as well as interpersonal contact
throughout the semester. Buddies who fulfill certain tasks may also
receive an Intercultural Certificate which shows their social engagement
and is nowadays expected from employers worldwide. More information
on the International Buddy Program at MBS can be found at
http://buddy.munich-business-school.de and on Facebook (search for
buddy@Munich Business School).

WORK
One thing’s for sure: you’re going to learn in ways you’ve
never learned before. The volume of work might surprise
you at first, and that’s why we place such strong empha-
sis on teamwork and forging strong relationships with any
of our over hundred instructors. Build teams outside of
class, participate in student associations, and don’t be
afraid of a little heated debate: it will spur you on toward
producing your best work. The more you reach out to
others, the more confident you’ll be in tackling the chal-
lenges presented by your classes.
FUN
While you’re making the grade, don’t forget to leave your
desk every once in a while. Meet up with friends and hit
the town. We highly recommend exploring the city’s mu-
seums and taking in its architecture or taking weekend
trips into the surrounding Alps. If you need to let off some
steam, you’ll have ample access to the sports facilities of
neighboring universities. With a robust group of friends
and a little curiosity, you’ll make discoveries that can
enrich and invigorate your studies.

the value of the network that I started to develop at

Perhaps the best way to make sure you excel throughout
your Bachelor experience is to meet others who have
already completed the journey you are embarking upon.

such a valuable resource to our students: you can get ad-
vice and encouragement from people who were in your
shoes not too long ago, and who are currently applying
their academic backgrounds to serious positions within
some of the world’s largest corporations. Even better, our
alumni can plug you into their networks, bringing you that
much closer to promising internships and top choice entry-

THE ADMISSION TEST
Hi there!
For the week leading up to the exam,
I read the most recent issues of
“The Economist”, “The Financial
Times”, and “The Times”.
I think with a little business
knowledge it’s easy to nail the exam.
I suggest you also take some online
quizzes for the general knowledge
section of your exam. It’s best to do
them in English so you’re familiar
with the vocabulary and use of
terms.
On the next page you’ll find more
recommendations to point you in the
right directions. It all depends on
good performance, creativity, and a
solid foundation of knowledge.
Best regards and good luck,
Moritz Wehle

TRADITION & TECHNOLOGY:
WELCOME TO MUNICH
MBS is located in one of Germany's most
beautiful cities. Munich offers the best
of both worlds: the serenity of a classical
city, and the energy of a cultural hotspot
and international business hub.
Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the
Alps, full of quirky details, and steeped in
tradition, Munich is perfect for anyone
who wants to learn and live in an inspiring
setting.
31
WORLD CITY WITH HEART
As a city, Munich offers a unique symbiosis of quality of li-
ving and business. The "world city with heart" is one of
the most popular cities in Germany and, due to its wealth
of culture and art, THE Bavarian metropolis. Anybody who
studies, works and lives in Munich quickly comes to ap-
preciate the advantages the city and region have to offer.
Munich is a center for art and culture and is seen as the
"secret capital" of Germany. It boasts a wealth of sights,
including the famous Frauenkirche, the English Garden,
the Pinakotheken, the Olympic Stadium and much more.
Also described as "Italy‘s most northern city", a sense of
southern flair can be felt everywhere in Munich – the Alps
and the neighboring countries are only a stone‘s throw
away.
In addition to the state‘s world class stages, such as the
opera at the National Theater or the Resident Theater,
Munich provides a multitude of outdoor theaters, cabaret
stages, dance stages and small art stages. Also culture and
event centers such as the Gasteig, the Schlachthof or the
Kultfabrik have reputations which reach far beyond the
city limits. A multitude of first-class museums offer in-
sights into art, culture and technology. Because of its lo-
cation in the Bavarian metropolis, Munich Business School
provides ideal conditions for students, inside and outside
of the lecture halls. This stimulating background is ideal
for meeting the demands of the comprehensive general
standard of education we pride ourselves to provide.
Rachel Chang
MBS Alumna
“As a Brazilian citizen I immediately felt at home in
Munich. It is a beautiful and manageable metropolis
– an ideal place for learning and living. I really enjoy
the fact that it is so close to nature. There are many
parks in town. The Alps and the Bavarian lakes are
just outside the city limits. Anyone who enjoys sports,
culture and a true quality of life will find plenty to do
in Munich and vicinity.”
BUSINESS HUB
Strewn with German corporations (e.g. BMW, Allianz,
Siemens) and global players (Microsoft, General Electric,
Intel, Google), Munich is one of Europe's most
vibrant economic centers. The leading industries are new
technologies, media, life sciences, and automotive. But
small and large companies from all industries find
Munich's business environment stimulating. In line with
our commitment to real-world relevance, Munich Business
School has been cultivating close relations to the region's
corporations for years – and our students benefit from our
robust network when they look for internships, partner
companies for their theses, and employment after
graduation.
EXTRACURRICULAR GOLDMINE
Even when you're new to Munich, a wealth of extracurri-
cular activities – e.g. organized by our student initiative
"students clubbing e.V." and ranging from student parties
to cultural events – will save you from feeling lost or
lonely. An annual highlight is the MBS Wintertrophy, a long
weekend in the snowy Alps that our students organize
every year. Munich also offers countless sights, museums,
restaurants, bars... and let's not forget "Oktoberfest," the
world's largest beer festival. Yes, you will study hard at
Munich Business School, but you will also have the time
of your life in Munich.
32
INTERNATIONAL
SPECIFICS
If you’re coming to MBS from
another country, there are a
few essentials you’ll need to
take care of. And while these
responsibilities will be yours
to deal with, we’re here to
point you in the right direc-
tion and provide help when
you need it. Here’s a brief
overview of what you’ll need
to do.
33
VISAS
German law requires non-EU nationals to apply for a Stu-
dent Visa (Visum für Studienzwecke). As visa requirements
differ for each country, you have to contact the German
Embassy in your country to obtain correct information.
The Federal Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt) provides a
table of countries that shows which citizens require/do not
require visas to enter Germany.
Since the visa process can be rather lengthy, we recom-
mend that you obtain general information on how to apply
for a student visa well in advance of the date you wish to
begin your academic studies. The actual visa process can
only be started after you have received the letter of
acceptance from Munich Business School.
Do not enter Germany with a tourist visa, because it can-
not be changed into a residence permit for studies, not
even if you are in possession of the admission certificate to
a German university. In such a case you would have to
return to your home country!
The German Embassy issuing your visa will send the visa
application directly to the Alien Registration Office (Aus-
länderbehörde) of the German town you wish to reside.
Once you are in Germany, you will have to register with
the Ausländerbehörde where you will also receive more
information on how to extend your visa.
HEALTH INSURANCE
All students must have health insurance for their studies in
Germany and either submit proof of acceptable health
insurance from their country or purchase health insurance
in Germany. Without health insurance, students may not
register for courses at Munich Business School.
HOUSING
Accepted incoming students have the option to either find
a place on their own, or take advantage of off-campus
housing through a property management company which
MBS has partnered with. Students wanting to take advan-
tage of this housing option can reserve accommodation in
advance. Prices start at EUR 420 per month for a furni-
shed single room.
COST OF LIVING
We estimate that your living costs will be around EUR 950
per month. Your budget will mostly depend on how you
manage your free time (e.g. travelling, eating out, opera,
concerts, using sports facilities, visiting museums and
clubs). Below is an example of an exchange student’s
monthly budget:
Rent (for a single room): EUR 420
Groceries/food: EUR 300
Public transportation: EUR 30
Phone/Internet: EUR 50
Miscellaneous: EUR 150
Estimated monthly budget: EUR 950

experiences and anecdotes I will always keep with me.
I have met people from places that I could have never
imagined, I have made friends for life and so much more.
MBS for me it is not just a university, it is more like home.”
