WINTER 2018 PROGRAM GUIDE REUTER FAMILY YMCA

YMCA AT MISSION PARDEE HEALTH CAMPUS

C O N N E C T IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE

NUTRITION VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES * Host a food drive at your school, neighborhood, place of work, and/or place of worship. Let us know and we can provide you with some resources!

* Join us in gleaning at community gardens and local farms to harvest any leftover veggies. This occurs periodically, but we would love to have you on our list of folks to call!

* Come serve at a Nutrition Outreach Mobile Market. This allows you to connect with people and provide food assistance to families in our community. Serving Buncombe and four surrounding counties, there is surely a place for you to serve with us!

NUTRITION SERVICES

HOLIDAY MARKET Support local vendors and stop by the Y to do some holiday shopping. This Holiday Market will boast about 20 vendors selling locally produced goods, including lotions, soaps, produce, cheese, clothing, and more. Find a few things for those hard-to-shop-for family members and purchase special additions for your holiday meal. Dec.13 and Dec. 20, 4-6:30 p.m. Reuter Family YMCA

WINTER MARKET The YMCA Winter Market will be hosted at the Reuter Family YMCA starting Jan. 17. It will be every Wednesday from 4-6:30 p.m. through the end of March. Similar to the Holiday Market, the Winter Market will host about 20 vendors selling locally grown/produced food, lotions, clothing, and more. Come check it out in the lobby at the Reuter Family YMCA!

Please contact Lisa Riggsbee at [email protected] for more information on getting started with the Nutrition Outreach Programs or questions regarding the market.

WORK OUT AND HELP OUT. When you join the Y, you’re committing to more than simply becoming healthier. You’re supporting the values and programs that strengthen your community. At the Y, children learn what they can achieve, families spend quality time together, and we all build relationships that deepen our sense of belonging.

For more than a workout. For a better us.

The YMCA Piranhas is a year-round YMCA Competitive Swim Team. We are sanctioned by both the YMCA and USA Swimming leagues. This means that Piranha swimmers compete in both YMCA and USA competitions. We believe that being a part of these two leagues gives our swimmers the opportunity to compete at the best level for their abilities.

Our team’s structure is based on the Y’s mission and four core values. We divide into seven different practice groups that are based on age and ability level and are designed by the coaches to help all swimmers to develop and to be challenged, regardless of ability. There is a place for every level of swimmer to be challenged and to flourish.
