A brief orientation will cover gear and safety procedures, then it’s over to the 30-foot cliff. Safety equipment, instruction, guidance, and water are provided; bring a water bottle and snacks. What’s new at wcparks?+ Each year, the Wood County Park District awards $100,000.00 in grants to Wood County municiplaities for Local Park Improvements. + At the J.C. Reuthinger Memorial Preserve, where the Stewardship Department grows thousands of native plants, ground work has begun in restoring a wetland on a portion of the property.+ The new wetland and farm gardens are growing at the Carter Historic Farm. Also new to the Farm are two sheep. + Buttonwood Recreation Area and park facilities are officially closed, but the river access from Hull Prairie is open. Parking is available on the left or west side of the road.+ An interpretive Center at Sawyer Quarry Nature Preserve is being created. Check back for developments on this community resource.
