Headed the operations sub-‐team that created protocols, detailed workflow process maps for patient referral and flow through the program, and specific criteria for patients to enter the program based on hospital utilization and specific chronic disease groups. This sub-‐team also finalized a partnership with an outside EMS company and helped create integration between each organization’s electronic medical records. Also oversaw the marketing, data collection, information technology, and education sub-‐teams that were instrumental in creating the Community Paramedicine program. A successful pilot should help to create formal statutes in the state of Kentucky for Community Paramedicine, a service that has proven to decrease 30 day readmission rates and emergency department utilization in a number of other states.
• Wrote a business case analysis that detailed the pros and cons of bringing outpatient infusion services in-‐house at Norton Healthcare. This business case analysis took into account the patient satisfaction, cost, reimbursement, associate satisfaction, and relational consequences associated with bringing the services in-‐house.
• Performed an audit on a Norton Healthcare joint venture where costs were rising rapidly over the past two years. The audit worked to judge whether or not costs were rising due to increased volume.
