1 Dean of Health Sciences Dean of Health Sciences Washtenaw Community College seeks an enthusiasc professional, experienced in healthcare management or administra- on to lead a newly formed Health Sciences division for the college. This is an excellent program with high graduaon rates and a student waing list. The Dean will be challenged with leading the efforts to maintain the success of the program, while providing experse and administraon of a new division. The program has been housed in various divisions and directed by different deans over the past several years and as a result the successful candidate for this posion will be a relaonship builder and possess solid interpersonal skills. PROGRAM INFORMATION Health Sciences consists of seven programs: Nursing, Surgical Technology, Radiography, Physical Therapist Assistant, Medical Assisng, Pharmacy Technology and Dental Assisng. There are over 250 students currently enrolled in the Health Sciences program with another 200 students on the waing list. The Dean is the academic and administrave leader for the division. This posion is responsible for the development, delivery and outcome of programs, while encouraging and providing innovaon and collaboraon with faculty and other college departments. Major responsibilies include the oversight of daily operaons and supervision of personnel, facilies, and budgets in assigned instruconal areas, in addion to serving as primary contact with state licensing commissions and accreditaon bodies. Day-to-day professional acvies are to align with meeng performance standards in all of the division’s areas, with a special focus on maintaining high student success levels. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

A high-level of professionalism, innovation, collaboration, and institutional commitment in all actions;

Analytical/administrative abilities sufficient to develop and administer budgets for division cost centers and major grants;

Interpersonal skills sufficient for effective frequent contact with faculty, staff, students, and community / industry representatives;

Management abilities sufficient to be successful with the administrative duties associated with a large diverse curricula;

Ability to provide rapid response: Disseminate information, complete and submit materials, return phone calls and emails in a timely manner to both internal colleagues and external constituents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in Nursing;

College teaching experience;

Academic or Healthcare administration or management experience.
