Program Position Job Descriptions
Director of Communications The Director of Communications will be crucial for motivating and exciting College
Youth in Government delegates throughout the year. This person will be the front
line of information about the program and will be responsible for keeping programparticipants informed and engaged with College Youth in Government activities.
Specific duties include updating social media sites, assisting with marketing
materials and informing delegates of events and deadlines.
Director of Financial Development
The Director of Financial Development will be crucial to the continued growth and
development of College Youth in Government. This person will ensure programChapters have the resources they need to be financially successful. Responsibilities
include providing resources to Chapters to assist them with fundraising on and off
campus, building relationships with their communities and developing a sustainable
model for future success.
Director of Governmental Relations
The Director of Governmental Relations will be crucial to elevating the College
Youth in Government program from the national assembly to an organization ofyoung people with tangible political capital. The Director of Governmental Relations
will work closely with the YMCA staff to develop relationships with legislativeofficials and organizations across the country with the goal of connecting College
Youth in Government Chapters to stakeholders in their own communities.
Director of Alumni Relations The Director of Alumni Relations will be crucial to positioning College Youth in
Government as a program with the resources to assist program alumni move
forward with their future careers. The Director of Alumni Relations will work withYMCA staff to build a network of resources with the goal of assisting program
alumni in furthering their career goals.
Director of Civic Mentoring -
The Director of Civic Mentoring will be crucial in assisting College Youth in
Government Chapters in developing the skills and resources to impact local and
state programs in their area. The Director of Civic Mentoring will work with YMCA
staff to connect Chapters with local Youth in Government programs with the goal of
developing a network of College Youth in Government delegates willing and able to
support their state programs with events, fundraising and development.
