EXPERT TaLK
In the subsequent panel of experts our speakers will give further impetus on the DRIVER GLOBALISATION. The discussion will focus on the challenges of globalisation and how logistics companies meet them by greater efficiency. The guiding question is how to realise the full potential, not least through the use of new technologies.
High technology is booming, but it can also provide boom? The use of technological innovations opens the logistics many unprece-dented opportunities for economic development: Intelligent automation just as 3-D printing open up new potential. How does the principle of networking affect the supply chain if logisticians become producers and retailers become logisticians?

EVENING EVENT STRaRTING aT 19:00
TUESDay, SEPTEmBER 16TH 2014
Opening of the Fraunhofer Innovation Centre Logistics & IT (FILIT)
Under the sponsorship of:
Certainly, computer science is the most important basic discipline of modern logistics. Developments such as the „Internet of things“ or „cloud computing“ promote the development of logistics in particular. Physical logis-tics founds its natural, virtual counterpart in the information logistics. More than ever, the economy needs the services of computer science. Logistics addresses the entire spectrum of the subject in particular: From intelligent migration of established systems to the implementation of completely new services for globally networked enter-prises. To interconnect the two Fraunhofer institutes in Dortmund even more closely is therefore the next logical step. The institute will generate even more synergies between logistics and IT and enables to offer more integra-ted logistics and IT solutions to the industry.
It’s time to connect: Our gala evening is the meeting place of visionaries, opinion leaders and lateral thinkers. This is where the industry meets to exchange and connect and where to learn what “Industry 4.0“ really is all about.
Venue: Freischütz, Hörder Straße 131, 58239 Schwerte (A bus transfer will be provided)
