Folk Walk
Join the gang for a walk across the fields to Longhope (approx 5 miles), stopping for drinks and songs at various points along the way. The walk is dog-friendly (although some venues may require them to stay outside), and is fine for all ages provided you can get over a stile or two! Why not come early to the White Horse and enjoy breakfast from 10.00am too… Bookings taken on the phone number below.

Venue: Playing Fields
Peeky Blinders Acoustic duo with close harmonies and unique arrangements. Expect country, folk, bluegrass and the odd song from the 60’s.
1.10pm – 1.40pm Ben Coulson Our accordion busker will delight you with a mix of traditional folk songs along with some more modern tunes. Expect the unexpected!
1.50pm – 2.20pm Drybrook & District Male Voice Choir Based in Drybrook with members aged between 17 and 90, the choir performs traditional male voice songs and some contemporary numbers.
2.30pm – 2.50pm Stephen Miller An accomplished guitarist who performs classical numbers and also familiar songs from a variety of eras.
3.10pm – 3.55pm Crooked End A lively combo of guitars, bass, percussion, flute and keyboards who combine jazz, rock and folk to bring the afternoon to a crooked end!

An open mic evening with an eclectic mix of musicians, bands and soloists. Come and sample local ales in the cosy and hospitable atmosphere whilst enjoying the local folk scene.

Clint Mann leads a workshop for guitarists of all abilities, with a focus on alternative tuning.

Accomplished guitarist performs singer/songwriter items from the 60’s & 70’s.
7.25pm – 7.55pm BB Jade Blues, jazz and country influences featuring the vocals of Jade Olivia-Patrick
8.00pm – 8.15pm Tracey Dixon Powerful and moving songs from this extraordinary Mitcheldean vocalist.
8.20pm – 8.45pm Jules, Ian and the Jamkits A potpourri of tunes and harmonies from this talented ensemble.
8.50pm – 9.20pm Steven Whittard-Smith & Steve Miller Banjo and classic guitar combine with a mix of solos and duets.
9.25pm – 9.55pm Clint Mann Singer-songwriter with indie meets folk guitar thrash.
10.00pm – 10.30pm May Thrill With Hazel Baker on whistle and Roy Stirzaker & Bill Taylor on guitars, three vocalists combine to arrange traditional folk music in a style of their own.
The Playing Fields will also house a tea shop,
stalls, food vending, kids attractions & toilets.
