WHAT IS P3O®?

P3O® (portfolio, programme and project offi ce) is a decision enabling and delivery support model for the facilitation of organisational change, incorporating guidance, principles, processes and techniques. This could take one of many forms, i.e. a virtual facility supported by physical centres/ departments, or a temporary workstation. The foundation course provides best practice guidance on issues ranging from selecting the most effective P3O® format for your organisation, to the set up and operation of P3O® thereafter.

WHY DO I NEED P3O®?

In addition to gaining a recognised accredited qualifi cation, participants will have the opportunity to share best practice guidance with other P3O® practitioners and take part in several meaningful workshop activities. These will enable delegates to:

• Understand the value that P3O® can offer their organisation;

• Identify and adopt the most effective P3O® model to ensure strategic objectives are met;

• Identify the functions and resources required to effectively deliver a P3O® service;

• Perform a range of analytical and modelling techniques used within a P3O®.

HOW DO I OBTAIN MY P3O® QUALIFICATION?

There are two P3O® qualifi cation levels: Foundation and Practitioner.

The Foundation level provides the basic principles and terminology of P3O®.

Practitioner is the highest level qualifi cation and is aimed towards people who manage portfolio and project offi ces within an organisation. (NB – this is available from NTI in 2010)

We operate a 5-day course incorporating both tiers, with practical support and advice available for our participants thereafter.
