• We are issuing technical notes to improve someamendments of the Brazilian Federal Chamber andFederal Senate: Senate Bill Nº738/2015 and HouseBill Nº3070/2015;

• In order to regulate food donation another sevenbills were introduced in 2015: Chamber Bill1748/2015; 1788/2015; 2131/2015; 2352/2015;2194/2015; 2574/2015 and 2775/2015 .

Research and Technology Axis

• Online participation on the course "Global PostharvestLoss Prevention: Fundamentals, Technologies, andActors" organized by the University of Illinois and theADM Institute (February);

• In the second edition of the same course (June), Ibecame an assistant professor with the orientation ofnew students;

• Participation in the First International Congress onPrevention of Post-harvest Loss, held in Rome (October)with a presentation of work on losses in the bananachain.

• Participation in a Consultative Workshop entitled:"Defining an e-learning curriculum on PostharvestFood Loss Assessment" Organized by FAO - held atthe World Food Program (WFP) headquarters onOctober, Rome, Italy;

• The Workshop was jointly organized by theAgroindustries Division and the Office ofDevelopment of Associations of Defense andCapacity of Rural Infrastructure.

Embrapa organized and carried out three seminars tobroaden the discussion on reducing losses and waste:

• Food and Nutrition Security: route, research andperspectives (April 10);• Loss and waste reduction and Food and NutritionSecurity (April 30);• Food and Nutrition Security Risk (June 12).

• Roundtable conference at the 5th Congress on Foodand Nutrition Security Council linked to the Ministryof Social Development (CONSEA); Conferenceuntitled Food Losses and Waste in Brazil: AnAgenda for Government and Society. Seminar heldat Brasília/DF with discussion board of Embrapa,FAO - Brazil and University of Campinas/SP.

• Participation in a public hearing of the Committee onAgriculture and Agrarian Reform of the Federal Senatein Brasília/DF ( June 16) to discuss the establishment ofa National Policy to Combat Food Waste.

• The public hearing, which was requested by thecommittee's president, Senator Ana Amélia (PP-RS) andSenator Lasier Martins (PDT-RS), was the last of threemeetings to instruct the Senate Bill Nº 672, Nº 675 andNº 738/2015.

It was schedule The First Meeting of the Secretariat of Support for the National Committee to Combat Food Losses and Waste.Date: Nov 28;

• Discussion about the formation of a Brazilian Network for the Reduction of FLW and a National Committee for Reduction of FLW;

• Organization of activities to be developed, responsibilities and schedule for implementation.

• Representatives of the Save Food Brazil Network;

• Food Losses and Waste Focal Points of the FAO Representation in Brazil ( Alan Bojanic; Gustavo Chianca and Juliana Rosseto);

• Focal Points of the FAO Representation in Latin America and Caribbean was invited (Tania Santivanez).

• Elaboration and submission of a research and transferproposal of project presented at EMBRAPA/DF toreduce losses in the Banana chain in Acre/AC.

• Embrapa/DF has created an arrangement for projectson the thematic line "Value Aggregation" where projectproposals can be submitted in the subject of food lossesand waste.

• My research center Embrapa Agroindústria deAlimentos defined as a highlight for the year actions onfood losses and wastes.

Presented lectures:

• Sustainability and Food Seminar: The Road to Reducing Waste.(March 15 - Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro).

The event addressed the optimization of processes in the food value chain and how sustainable practices can be inserted in this context.

• Panel: Agriculture: Good practices in planting, harvesting, transportation and storage of food.

Lecture held at the Business Forum of Agribusiness (May 04 – FIRJAN - Industries Federation of the state of Rio de Janeiro) entitled "Main aspects for Reduction of food losses and waste in Brazil ".
