# 50 RCB correction , # 55: Phase specific calculation

Overview:

Current status:

Steps for goal:

For NOVC-HEVs and OVC-HEVs, correction of CO2 and fuel consumptions is required considering the charging balance of rechargeable electric energy storage systems. The question is how to deal with the increase of test burden for phase specific values correcting REESS.

1. JPN reviews the applicability of ACEA‘s proposal to phase specific values. ACEA and JPN reconsider CO2 family definition to work the proposal well.(until mid of Feb.)

2. e-Lab group will get agreement on this proposal within the group. (during next f2f2 meeting scheduled in the week of 9th March)

3. e-Lab group ask WLTP IWG to adopt this proposal in meeting #10 in April.

EC agreed to obtain phase specific values. ACEA provided a new proposal (WLTP-SG-EV-06-11) to obtain RCB correction coefficient of CS with warm condition and this is applicable for vehicles in the same family.ACEA has concerns on CD case. Further discussions on CD case are necessary.

# 51: Mode selectable switch

Overview:

Current status:

Steps for goal:

The group will discuss on CS description. Then the group will check the current gtr text.

ACEA position to keep the present gtr description. JPN positionCS: Using "Predominant" in CS modeCD: as it is in the GTR

Germany supports the current gtr text , although it needs to be adjusted in the wording.

The idea of working on this topic (in case of EV) is to be in line with ICE vehicles.

# 02: CO2 family for the combined approach

Overview:

Current status:

The family definition is discussed to enable combined approach and phase specific values. The discussion point is to ensure the interpolation in better linearity in CO2 values against vehicle demand energy.

JPN proposal is shown in “WLTP-SG-EV-06-05 Combined Approach Japan.pdf”.

Steps for goal:

ACEA will review the JPN proposal .(until mid of Feb.)

The group requests the adaption in WLTP meeting (#10) in April.

(in case of CS test)Putting a mid point in energy demand is used to check the linearity in CO2 values against vehicle demand energy.

# 52: End of range criteria for PEV

Overview:

Current status:

Steps for goal:

ACEA provided new proposals as follows Solution1:

Low speed vehicle -> ’End of test criteria’ is not applicable to speed more than the ‘maximum speed’ of the vehicle.Low powered vehicle -> ’Downscaling method’ is used.

Solution2: based on SAE J1634The first cycle which becomes the reference cycle is drawn by a vehicle’s best

effort when the vehicle cannot trace class 3 properly.

MLIT commented that there is a serious concern which measured values by reconstructed cycles may mislead users. JPN needs time to response to the ACEA's proposal.

The discussion point is the applicability of cycle modifications on PEVs in cases PEVs is not able to trace class 3 properly because of the limited speed or power.

Japan is currently developing the counter-proposal and plan to provide it before next f2f meeting(March 2015).

# 58: PEV shorten test procedure

Overview:

Current status:

Steps for goal:

The group is working on to develop “shorten test procedure” based on SAE for PEV range measurement to reduce testing burden.

Initial test procedure was developed and is under the validation. Several concerns were raised and ACEA and JPN are working on to take care of these concerns.

i.e. Equivalency to results with the method on the current GTR,Setting of constant vehicle speed,Alternative method or base test method and so on

The group will continue discussion on how to close the concerns. Draft conclusion by the group will be delayed.

# 53: FCV test procedure, starting note

Current status

Overview:

The test method of measurement of Hydrogen consumption will be discussed.

Discussions on this issue were started in industrial level. The first proposal will be brought in the e-Lab face to face meeting in March 2015.
