Your offer letter will be sent to the email address you have provided on your course preference submission, ensure you enter the correct details.

PREPARE TO ARRIVE
RECEIVING YOUR ELECTRONIC CONFIRMATION OF ENROLMENT (ECOE) AND ENROLMENT PACKAGEYour Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) will be emailed to you or your Monash Registered Agent when you have accepted your full offer or packaged offer (ISCA) (with no academic conditions specified). You need the eCOE to apply for a student visa.
If you have already accepted a packaged offer (Monash University Foundation Year program combined with a Monash University undergraduate course) and decide to change your course preference or defer your course commencement date, you will be provided with a new eCOE once you accept the new offer. You must provide the new eCOE to the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
After you have received your eCOE , you will receive an enrolment package that includes:
• your welcome letter• a passport to Monash – your complete guide to living in Australia
and studying at Monash University.
REQUESTING A CONDITIONAL ECOEIf you are currently studying the Monash University Foundation Year in a country outside of Australia, and wish to arrive in time for the July University intake, you may need to request a conditional eCOE to allow you to apply for a student visa.
Request for a conditional eCOE must be submitted in writing to your institution directly or by emailing [email protected].
You must read and understand the following about the conditional eCOE:
• A conditional eCOE is not granted automatically to all applicants. Your request will be assessed, and if you are eligible, a conditional eCOE will be emailed to you.
• The conditional eCOE does not signify a full offer for your course. It will assist you with gaining a visa to arrive in Melbourne before your compulsory course enrolment, but you will still be required to satisfy all of the conditions of your course offer before you can attend enrolment. If you do not satisfy all of the course offer conditions, the eCOE will be cancelled. An alternative course for which you qualify may be offered and a new eCOE will be emailed to you if you accept. Monash is obligated to advise the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Border protection (DIBP) of eCOE cancellations.
• When you request a conditional eCOE, you agree to take responsibility for all expenses incurred by you, including travel expenses. Course refunds will be processed according to the refund policy as stipulated in your course conditional offer letter.
If your request for a conditional eCOE is not approved, you will need to wait for a course full offer before you can accept, and an eCOE is issued to you. If you cannot arrive in time for enrolment, you may need to consider deferring to the next available intake.
Once your Monash University Foundation Year results are released, your application will be re-assessed. If you meet all of the admissions requirements for your preferred course, you will be emailed a full offer.
STUDENT UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGEMonash University and Monash College have specific accommodation and welfare guidelines for international students under 18 years of age. If you will be under 18 at the time of course enrolment and you are applying for a student visa, you will need to supply additional documentation before your eCOE can be issued. Please visit the relevant website for detailed information about these guidelines:
Undergraduate course: monash.edu/students/international/under-18
Diploma course: monashcollege.edu.au/students-under-18
ARRANGING YOUR STUDENT VISAThe Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) is responsible for issuing visas for entry to Australia. Students who are planning to study a Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) registered course are required to obtain a student visa.
Applicants are advised not to commence the visa application process until they have been issued their Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE).
Applicants must keep in mind that their student visa application may take up to 6 months or more, depending on their nationality and country of residence.
All students, regardless of the financial capacity and English language proficiency documentation that they may be required, will have to meet all other core visa criteria, such as the Genuine Temporary Entrant requirement and health and character criteria.
Additional visa information and application forms can be obtained from the Monash University website: study.monash/how-to-apply/international-student-applications/visa-requirements
Plan your arrivalYou will need to make your own travel arrangements, aiming to arrive in Melbourne at least two weeks before enrolment. This will make it easier for you to settle in and prepare for the start of classes.
If you wish to use our airport reception service you need to complete and return the request form available at: study.monash/how-to-apply/international-student-applications/preparing-to-arrive/book-your-airport-reception
