Summer internship courses were basically scheduled in South Korea, in Korean

Aerospace University and DongGuk University, to learn specialized skills from world class

universities. Korea is a beautiful place excelling well in tourism and academic institutions. There

were many courses made availableto the students during this summer (July-August 2011). All

with knowledge of the subjects and cultural experiences through theoretical classes and

Industrial visits. All these courses were handled by eminent professors from well established

universities. Most of these courses were aviation, engineering or management related. This

report is analysis of three of those courses, namely

    1. Aviation safety and security

    2.1. OVERALL COURSE OBJECTIVE

These summer courses were an opportunity for all the students from various countries

and cultural backgrounds to learn new things from other international students and their cultures.

It was an exposure to world community. The primary objective of this summer program was to

inculcate wider knowledge about the subjects in international standards and also to learn the new

    culture of the country Korea.

Exposure to international standards and corporate world is a must for any student who

aspires to be a part of the globalized organizations. Especially the students from Aviation

Management should be more eager to learn new cultures and the differences from any people

they meet and this course helped students, especially Aviation and Management students to

    fulfill their expectations.

Students doing Aviation Management as their major had most advantage because all

these summer courses were like designed for them. It was most relevant to them than students

with any other major. Be it the aviation safety and security course or the airline operations andmanagement course or the leadership and negotiation course, it helped the Aviation Management

students more than the students who had Aerospace Engineering or General Management as their

    major.

The infrastructure, course schedule and the way of handling classes were all designed in

such a way that the students can learn the subject and understand it even though it was for only

two or three weeks. The course also had Industrial visits and cultural visits to places where the

students may land up in a job in future.

the field of teaching; also they had wide and deep knowledge about the subjects. They havetravelled a lot of places and have had more experiences with young and aspiring students so they

knew what the students were expecting out of them.

Professor James Higgins from University of North Dakota, who conducted classes in

Korean Aerospace University, is an eminent professor who knows more about Aviation Safety

and also about the Operations and Management of Airline has more experience in flying than

teaching this subject and also he has in his blood to fly. He comes from a family of pilots and

married to a pilot, he knows the nook and corner of the flying operations, security, safety etc.

Dr. Wilson and Dr. Buzzanell are basically husband and wife, who handled the class in

DongGuk University. They are very experienced and have articles published on this particular

subject of leadership and negotiation. They have their countrys style in their way of handling

classes that is they are very American.
