PROJECT 5: Video Scoring
1. Create a soundtrack for a chosen short film or individual scene, importing the video into Logic. The video may be original or taken from an existing film with the original soundtrack removed.
2. Create your own original foley for diagetic sounds.
3. Record a vocal and/or instrumental improvisation responding to the video, and incorporate this into your soundtrack.
4. Duration 4 to 7 minutes.

If you would like to compose a graphic score
(visual symbols or abstract drawings, accompanied by a minimal amount of text)
to guide improvisation by the string quartet in response to your
chosen video:Choose either:
A) Write out individual parts for the 4 performers, with explanatory
text for any invented symbols. Include time-frames (measured in
seconds) for particular sequences of action, and include expression or
technique markings where
appropriate.
B) Write a single score that everyone will read from
(this could be printed out for everyone, or projected as an
animation). Include some verbal or written guidance
for the performers about how they should respond to each other and to the video. If a printed score, no more than
2 pages.
