Our rail system spans more than 77 miles, through three counties, with an annual ridership of nearly 20 million passengers and growing, making it perhaps the most dynamic commuter rail system in the nation. Its annual operating budget is $146 million (Fiscal Year 2017). This is a transformative time in the 150-year history of the Caltrain commuter rail system. Caltrain is in the midst of a nearly $2 billion Caltrain Modernization Program (CalMod) and electrifying the railroad is the key element of the Peninsula Corridor Electrification Project (PCEP). The PCEP is expected to be operational in 2021. The Manager, Project Controls reports to the Director, Capital Program Delivery and is responsible for evaluating capital project cost and progress for the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board (Caltrain). The PositionYou will be responsible for forecasting estimate-at-completion cost, analyzing project earned value performance data, and the development of project schedule recovery plans; monitoring, tracking, and reporting progress of all active capital projects on a monthly and quarterly basis; maintain a project control software system, and integrate data from other applications or systems to track project progress, including cost and accrual information; develop and track key project performance indicators, including setting up project work breakdown structures, project baseline budgets and schedules, project trends and change orders; and oversee the maintenance and integrity of project documents.

Minimum Qualifications • BS degree in civil engineering, construction management or equivalent field.• Five (5) years project control experience in engineering and/or construction management• Two (2) years of managerial experience.

Ideal Candidate • Will have Registered Professional Engineer License.• Must have effective written and oral communication skills.

Compensation and Benef its The annual salary is $110,682-$160,487. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
