Typography Type something freeform Use the type tool (t) and the Character and click on your canvas and start typing. Use the character window to adjust size, spacing, and color of your type.

● MyFonts.com (paid fonts) ● FontSquirrel.com (free fonts)

Type a paragraph of lorem ipsum With your type tool (t), draw a rectangle for your paragraph of text. Then, go to Type > Paste Lorem Ipsum to paste in the dummy text.

Next, play with the settings in the Character window to adjust the size, spacing, and color of the font.

Please remember, older versions of Photoshop do not have the lorem ipsum option. If you don't have Lorem Ipsum as an option, go ahead and just type whatever you would like inside the text box! Putting it all together Rework your cutout from the pen tool exercise Open up your pen tool cutout that you did during the pen tool exercise. Or, simply cut a new person out of a new photo. Adjust the canvas size to 800x1000 pixels in size (or something similar).

Add typography to your card Use the type tool to add typography and a greeting onto your card. Try rotating text using Command + t. Also play with fonts and colors.

Add a stroke border to some of your type Create a layer style on some of your text. Then, go to Stroke where you can choose the width and color of that stroke. Once you're done, don't forget to bump down the fill of that layer to 0% otherwise you may not be able to see the stroke!

Add a drop shadow to your cut out Double click on your person's cut out layer. Once the layer styles panel is open, select and add a drop shadow. Play around with the drop shadow's angle and opacity.
