Why Partition Sequence should be Optional (1)

• FCC NPRM and world wide regulations permit use as less as 15 channels.

• Bad channel usage applies when the number of good channel NG is less than 15. Very rare scenarios

• If NG < 15, theoretical benefits of intelligent use of bad channels is trivial.

• But in practice, if NG < 15, making a connection is extremely difficult, let alone implementing AFH.

Why Partition Sequence should be Optional (2)

• Not compatible with Bluetooth SIG AFH mechanism.

• Not compatible with legacy devices.

• Not beneficial for broadcast, Piconet synchronization, park mode, sniff mode, etc.

• Not supporting mixed data and voice link (ACL+SCO).

• Extra gates, extra time, minimal benefits
