1. All work shall be in accordance with applicable state and local building codes and all other governing agencies and regulations.
2. Contractor shall verify all conditions and dimensions in the field prior to commencement of the work. Verify layout in relation to property, benchmarks, and other fixed conditions. Report discrepancies to the Architect immediately upon discovery.
3. Notify Architect of discrepancies regarding the Contract Documents or design intent immediately upon discovery. Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining clarification prior to proceeding with the work or related work.
4. Contractor shall obtain all required building permits and licenses.
5. Contractor shall remove all rubbish and debris from the site during course of project, and dispose of legally off-
site.
6. Contractor shall perform all cutting, patching and protection required to complete the work indicated on the
Contract Documents.
7. Contractor shall provide all inspections and tests required by state and local authorities including but not limited to earthwork, concrete, steel erection, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work. Refer to individual drawings and
specifications for additional testing requirements.
8. Unless indicated otherwise, products and manufacturers are noted to establish the type and quality of materials to
be provided. Contractor may submit proposed substitutions to the Architect for review, with enough supporting data provided for the Architect to make an evaluation. Contractor shall include costs associated with proposed substitution, including redesign, and alteration of adjacent work to accept substitution.
9. All dimensions are either to face of masonry or the face of stud, unless noted otherwise. Drawings are not to be scaled.
10. Install all equipment and materials per manufacturer's instructions and recommendations unless specifically otherwise indicated, or where local codes and regulations take precedence.
11. Contractor shall provide supervision while any subcontractors or workers are on the job site and shall supervise
and direct all work.
12. Contractor shall be solely responsible for all construction means, methods, techniques, sequences, procedures, site
safety, erosion and sedimentation control, and coordinating the work of all trades under the contract.
13. No products containing asbestos or other hazardous materials shall be installed on this project or used during the construction of the project. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to certify to the Owner that this
requirement has been met. Subcontractors shall verify to the Contractor that no asbestos or other hazardous products are used in their work.
14. Locations of rated fire/smoke separations and/or fire resistive structural protection are shown on documents.
Provide complete assemblies to meet fire resistive requirements of the project including protection of structural elements and fire separation assemblies. Maintain the integrity of these assemblies at openings and penetrations including but not limited to fire or smoke dampers in ductwork, light fixture protection, electrical device box
ratings, expansion joints, and sealants. Provide this protection by using complete building component systems approved by recognized authorities such as Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., Factory Mutual, or other building code accepted agencies. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to accomplish this work during bidding, procurement, scheduling, sequencing and construction of the project.
15. Delegated Design: When professional design services or certifications related to systems, materials, or equipment are required by these documents, the Architect/Engineer will specify performance and design criteria that such
services must satisfy. The Contractor shall cause such services and certifications to be provided by a properly licensed design professional, whose signature and seal shall appear on all drawings, calculations, Shop Drawings and other related submittals. The Owner and Architect/Engineer shall be entitled to rely upon the accuracy and completeness of those delegated services. The Architect/Engineer will review submittals only for the limited
purpose of checking for conformance with the performance and design criteria.

ASSOCIATED WITH SAID EQUIPMENT. REMOVE PIPING / DUCTWORK BACK TO THE NEXT LIVE BRANCH WHICH WILL NOT OBSTRUCT THE NEWWORK AND CAP AIRTIGHT. TRANSPORT AND LEGALLY DISPOSE OF MATERIALS OFF SITE.
5.2. ANY DEMOLITION SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH OWNER, ENGINEER, AND GENERAL CONTRACTOR. ALL DEBRIS SHALL BE CLEANED UP ANDREMOVED FROM THE SITE BY THE END OF EVERY WORK DAY. PRIOR TO DISPOSAL OF EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS, TURN OVER TO OWNERANY REMOVED EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS PER OWNERS REQUEST.
6. CLEAN UP AND REPAIR6.1. UPON COMPLETION OF DEMOLITION WORK, REMOVAL TOOLS, EQUIPMENT AND DEMOLISHED MATERIALS FROM SITE. REMOVE PROTECTION

1. PROVIDE EQUIPMENT AND PIPE SUPPORTS TO SUPPORT ROOF MOUNTED EQUIPMENT DUCTWORK AND PIPING ABOVE ROOF. PIPE AND DUCTSUPPORTS ON 8'-0" OR LESS ACCORDING TO HANGER SPACING.
2. INSTALL THERMOSTATS 48" ABOVE FINISHED FLOOR OR AS DIRECTED OTHERWISE BY ARCHITECT. WHERE THERMOSTATS ARE LOCATED INPUBLIC AREAS, PROVIDE PASSWORD PROTECTED MODELS OR LOCKING COVERS.
3. IF AN AIR HANDLER MOVES MORE THAN 2000 CFM, IT SHALL HAVE A SMOKE DETECTOR IN THE AIR STREAM.4. SMOKE DETECTORS SHALL BE FURNISHED AND WIRED TO THE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM UNDER THE ELECTRICAL SECTION. UNDER THE MECHANICAL
SECTION. THIS CONTRACTOR SHALL MOUNT THE DETECTORS IN DUCTWORK, WHERE REQUIRED BY CODE, AND SHALL WIDE THE DETECTORS TOTHE ATC SYSTEM AND RAN STARTERS FOR SHUTDOWN.
5. ALL CONTROL WIRE AND CONDUIT SHALL COMPLY WITH NEC.6. PROVIDE HANGERS, CLAMPS, OFFSETS, EXPANSION JOINTS, ANCHORS AND GUIDES AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT STRESS ON PIPING.7. ALL CONDENSATE DRAIN LINES SHALL BE PIPED FULL SIZE OF THE UNIT DRAIN OUTLET, WITH "P" TRAP, CONNECTED TO PLUMBING IWR AS
INDICATED ON DRAWINGS.8. THE SYSTEM SHALL BE FULLY TESTED AND BALANCED UPON COMPLETION OF INSTALLATION.9. TESTING AND BALANCING SHALL BE PROVIDED BY A COMPANY SPECIALIZING IN THE TESTING AND BALANCING OF HVAC SYSTEMS. THE TEST
AND BALANCE COMPANY SHALL BE A MEMBER OF AABC OR NEBB. BALANCE AIR FLOWS TO WITHIN 10% OF SCHEDULED AIR FLOWS AT ALLDIFFUSERS. 7. GIVE NOTICES, FILE PLANS, OBTAIN PERMITS AND LICENSES, PAY FEES AND BACK CHARGES, ANDOBTAIN NECESSARY APPROVALS FROM AUTHORITIES THAT HAVE JURISDICTION AS REQUIRED TOPERFORM WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LEGAL REQUIREMENTS AND WITH THE DESIGN DOCUMENTS
8. PRIOR TO COMMENCING WORK, CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS AND EQUIPMENT DATAFOR MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT TO THE ARCHITECT FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL. MATERIALS ANDEQUIPMENT SHALL NOT BE INSTALLED BEFORE SHOP DRAWINGS ARE REVIEWED AND APPROVED.SCHEDULE AT LEAST TEN WORKING DAYS, EXCLUSIVE OF TRANSMITTAL TIME, FOR SUBMITTAL REVIEWSHALL BE ALLOWED.
9. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE LISTED BY UNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES (UL) AND APPROVEDBY ASME AND AGA FOR INTENDED SERVICE.
10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS,TECHNIQUES, SEQUENCES AND PROCEDURES REQUIRED FOR SAFE EXECUTION AND COMPLETION OFWORK, AND FOR INITIATING, MAINTAINING AND SUPERVISING ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ANDPROGRAMS IN CONNECTION WITH THE WORK.
11. COORDINATE WORK OF THIS SECTION WITH THAT OF OTHER SECTIONS.12. ALL MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION SHALL BE ACCORDANCE WITH THE
STANDARDS, REGULATIONS, CODES, ORDINANCES, AND LAW OF LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERALGOVERNMENTS, AND OTHER AUTHORITIES THAT HAVE LAWFUL JURISDICTION.
13. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THIS CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE HIS WORK WITH THAT OF ALLOTHER TRADES, INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO), ELECTRICAL, HVAC, SPRINKLER, PLUMBING,STRUCTURAL AND GENERAL ARCHITECTURE. OFFSETS IN PIPING AND OFFSETS AROUND OBSTRUCTIONSSHALL BE PROVIDED AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER.
14. DEVIATION FROM CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, OR PROPOSED SUBSTITUTION OF MATERIALS OR EQUIPMENTFOR THOSE SPECIFIED, SHALL BE REQUESTED IN SEPARATE LETTER, WHETHER DEVIATIONS ARE DUE TOFIELD CONDITIONS, STANDARD SHOP PRACTICE OR OTHER CAUSE. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLEFOR ANY COSTS INCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE CHANGES NEEDED TO ACCOMMODATE THESUBSTITUTED EQUIPMENT INCLUDING THE WORK OF OTHER TRADES.
15. EACH CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ITS CUTTING AND PATCHING REQUIRED FOR THEINSTALLATION OF ITS NEW WORK. CUTTING AND PATCHING SHALL BE COMPLETED IN A NEAT ANDWORKMANLIKE MANNER. PATCHING MATERIALS SHALL MATCH EXISTING MATERIALS TO THEGREATEST EXTENT POSSIBLE. PROVIDE TOUCH-UP TO MATCH EXISTING SURROUNDING AREAS OFCUTTING AND PATCHING WORK
16. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ITS RESPECTIVE CEILING MOUNTED EQUIPMENT WITH OTHER TRADECONTRACTORS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TO AVOID CONFLICTS.
17. WORK SHALL BE EXECUTED IN A WORKMANLIKE MANNER AND SHALL PRESENT NEAT, RECTILINEARAPPEARANCE WHEN COMPLETED. MAINTAIN MAXIMUM HEAD ROOM AT ALL TIMES. DO NOT RUN PIPES,DUCTS, AND CONDUIT EXPOSED UNLESS SHOWN AND NOTED TO BE EXPOSED ON DRAWINGS.MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE NEW AND INSTALLED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER'SINSTRUCTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS, SO THAT COMPLETED INSTALLATION SHALL OPERATE SAFELYAND EFFICIENTLY.
18. EACH RESPECTIVE CONTRACTOR SHALL FIRE STOP ALL NEW SLEEVES THROUGH CONCRETE FLOORSAND FIRE RATED WALLS OR PARTITIONS WITH UL RATED ASSEMBLIES WITH EQUAL FIRE RATING.COORDINATE ROOF PENETRATIONS WITH WORK OF OTHER SECTIONS AND WITH FLASHINGREQUIREMENTS.
19. ANY INTERFERENCE SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE, ANDSHALL BE RESOLVED PRIOR TO THE INSTALLATION OF THE WORK INVOLVED.

28. AS WORK PROGRESSES AND FOR DURATION OF CONTRACT, MAINTAIN COMPLETE SET OF PRINTS OFCONTRACT DRAWINGS AT JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES. RECORD WORK COMPLETED AND ALL CHANGESFROM ORIGINAL CONTRACT DRAWINGS CLEARLY AND ACCURATELY INCLUDING WORK INSTALLED AS AMODIFICATION OR ADDITION TO THE ORIGINAL DESIGN TURN OVER ALL OPERATING MANUALS,MAINTENANCE MANUALS, AND "AS BUILT" DRAWINGS TO OWNER AT CONCLUSION OF CONSTRUCTION.
29. DO NOT SUPPORT EQUIPMENT FROM SUSPENDED CEILINGS. SUPPORT ALL EQUIPMENT AND PIPINGFROM BUILDING. STRUCTURE TO PROVIDE A VIBRATION FREE INSTALLATION. NOTIFY ARCHITECT ANDSTRUCTURAL ENGINEER OF ALL WEIGHTS AND METHODS OF SUPPORT.
30. RUN PIPING/WIRING CONCEALED, UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE, AND CLEAR OF CEILING INSERTS.31. PROVIDE CLAMPS, OFFSETS, EXPANSION JOINTS, ANCHORS AND GUIDES AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT

9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR CONSTRUCTION MEANS, METHODS, TECHNIQUES,SEQUENCES AND PROCEDURES REQUIRED FOR SAFE EXECUTION AND COMPLETION OF WORK, AND FORINITIATING, MAINTAINING AND SUPERVISING ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND PROGRAMS IN CONNECTIONWITH THE WORK.
10. ALL MATERIALS, EQUIPMENT AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION SHALL BE ACCORDANCE WITH THESTANDARDS, REGULATIONS, CODES, ORDINANCES, AND LAW OF LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERALGOVERNMENTS, AND OTHER AUTHORITIES THAT HAVE LAWFUL JURISDICTION.
11. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THIS CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE HIS WORK WITH THAT OF ALLOTHER TRADES, INCLUDING (BUT NOT LIMITED TO), ELECTRICAL, HVAC, SPRINKLER, PLUMBING,STRUCTURAL AND GENERAL ARCHITECTURE. PATCHING MATERIALS SHALL MATCH EXISTING MATERIALS TO THE GREATEST EXTENT POSSIBLE.PROVIDE TOUCH-UP TO MATCH EXISTING SURROUNDING AREAS OF CUTTING AND PATCHING WORK
14. CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ITS RESPECTIVE CEILING MOUNTED EQUIPMENT WITH OTHER TRADECONTRACTORS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TO AVOID CONFLICTS.
15. WORK SHALL BE EXECUTED IN A WORKMANLIKE MANNER AND SHALL PRESENT NEAT, RECTILINEARAPPEARANCE WHEN COMPLETED. MAINTAIN MAXIMUM HEAD ROOM AT ALL TIMES. DO NOT RUN PIPES,DUCTS, AND CONDUIT EXPOSED UNLESS SHOWN AND NOTED TO BE EXPOSED ON DRAWINGS. MATERIALSAND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE NEW AND INSTALLED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS ANDRECOMMENDATIONS, SO THAT COMPLETED INSTALLATION SHALL OPERATE SAFELY AND EFFICIENTLY.
16. EACH RESPECTIVE CONTRACTOR SHALL FIRE STOP ALL NEW SLEEVES THROUGH CONCRETE FLOORS ANDFIRE RATED WALLS OR PARTITIONS WITH UL RATED ASSEMBLIES WITH EQUAL FIRE RATING.
17. KEEP WORK AREA CLEAN AND ORDERLY. CONTRACTOR SHALL DISPOSE OF TRASH/RUBBLE/CONSTRUCTIONDEBRIS ON A DAILY BASIS FROM WORK AREA. ALL TRASH/CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS SHALL BE HAULED OFFTO AN APPROVED DISPOSAL SITE. ANY TRASH/RUBBLE/ CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS DEEMED AS HAZARDOUSWASTE/MATERIAL SHALL BE DISPOSED OF IN ACCORDANCE WITH EPA, (STATE) DEPT. OF ENVIRONMENTALPROTECTION & LOCAL REGULATIONS AND DISPOSED OF ACCORDINGLY AT AN APPROVED HAZARDOUSWASTE DUMPSITE WITH ALL OF THE APPROVED/REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION.

26. ALL EQUIPMENT, PIPING, INSULATION, ETC., INSTALLED IN HVAC PLENUM SPACES SHALL MEET CODEREQUIREMENTS FOR SMOKE AND COMBUSTIBILITY.
27. AS WORK PROGRESSES AND FOR DURATION OF CONTRACT, MAINTAIN COMPLETE SET OF PRINTS OFCONTRACT DRAWINGS AT JOB SITE AT ALL TIMES. RECORD WORK COMPLETED AND ALL CHANGES FROMORIGINAL CONTRACT DRAWINGS CLEARLY AND ACCURATELY INCLUDING WORK INSTALLED AS AMODIFICATION OR ADDITION TO THE ORIGINAL DESIGN TURN OVER ALL OPERATING MANUALS,MAINTENANCE MANUALS, AND "AS BUILT" DRAWINGS TO OWNER AT CONCLUSION OF CONSTRUCTION.
28. DO NOT SUPPORT EQUIPMENT FROM SUSPENDED CEILINGS. SUPPORT ALL EQUIPMENT AND PIPING FROMBUILDING. STRUCTURE TO PROVIDE A VIBRATION FREE INSTALLATION. NOTIFY ARCHITECT ANDSTRUCTURAL ENGINEER OF ALL WEIGHTS AND METHODS OF SUPPORT.
29. RUN PIPING/WIRING CONCEALED, UNLESS SPECIFIED OTHERWISE, AND CLEAR OF CEILING INSERTS.30. PROVIDE CLAMPS, OFFSETS, EXPANSION JOINTS, ANCHORS AND GUIDES AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT
STRESS ON PIPING/WIRING. .31. ANY REFERENCE TO ELECTRICAL, PLUMBING AND HVAC CONTRACTORS, NOTED ON THESE DRAWINGS OR
