How to make your design for a fabric brooch or badge:

Using your sketch book, draw a portrait picture of yourself, please colour it in with paints or coloured pencils if you have any.

When you have finished, unless you want to do another drawing of yourself, please do a drawing of someone else at home, or you might like to draw your cat or dog if you have one.

Please colour your drawing in.

We can make it the right size for you to sew a fabric brooch or badge, when we get back to workshop 305, so don’t worry if it looks too big for a brooch or badge, at the moment.

You could do lots of drawings of yourself, other people, or pets at home and then you could make lots of brooches or badges to give them for presents. If you have someone who can help you at home then you could start to make a brooch or badge.

Otherwise when we are back at Workshop 305 we will use fabrics to make a base, stitched together, and add patterned fabrics for the clothes, or fur, in the portrait.

You can then use a needle and thread to make the face like your own drawing, you might find it easier to draw it in pencil first.
