►The Municipality establishes the urban areas that need regeneration, giving priority to those sections which are abandoned and run down

►The Municipality identifies the public aims to be achieved in each area

►The Municipality draws up a feasibility study considering the public and private resources available, as well as the opportunities offered with respect to real estate values

Role of the region in the promotion of the PRU

►The Region is responsible for guaranteeing the necessary financial resources (e.g. regional, national, UE)

►The Region ensures the integration of all policies having an influence on the urban territory

► The Region launches public competitions to finance the planning of the PRUs and the realisation of the works of public interest (public housing, infrastructures)

►The Municipality stipulates an agreement with the sponsors of the selected project

►The Region may participate in the agreement with its own funds

►The Programme for Urban Regeneration is approved by signing the agreement

►The agreement foresees the eventual expropriation of property where negotiation has broken down

The PTR sets out the priorities for the work ahead of us over the next few years:
