E-Kids ( www.e-kids.in ) promoted by Dr. B. Fredy Fernando who has rich experience in

Computer based Kids education in research, content development, deployment,

implementation and marketing with the above mentioned experiences and knowledge, realized

that Schools are focusing on academics, only for scoring marks not for skill. They neither have

time to think about skill development among students nor does teacher have interest towards

it.

Keeping in mind, he has started M/s. E-KIDS SOLUTION PRIVATE LIMITED with the mission of

incorporating “Teach A Man To Fish” (if a person is hungry, don’t give him fish, instead teach

him how to catch a fish) concept with help of application oriented, academic project based

ICT (Information & Communication Technology) education to improve Students’ Skill and the

vision of Transforming Academics to Skill Development Curriculum with the help of ICT.

Since 2000, he has started his research by collecting resources, sampling, experimentation,

information and articles focusing on skill development and use ICT as a tool to improve the skill

among the students while we are implementing our other projects (Computer Education for

Kids).

With the innovative plan and approach, he has developed skill development project for Maths,

English & Computer Science, because these three subjects are core for anyone who improve

their career and standard. Students cannot memorize these two subjects unlike other subjects

where he can score more marks by memorizing the lesson content and vomiting in the exam

answer sheets.

Today, his skill development concept is being implemented by various board (including Indian

state, cbse and international) schools. He is getting very good encouragement from students,

teachers, and school management in order to improve soft skills in particular spoken English.

This is a small initiative for the skill development.

The E- Kids Mathematics program develops students’ skill on fundamental mathematics with

the help of Montessori approach using computers. Students are not only getting the answer

right but also know how the answer evolves.

The Speed and Logic Mathematics Techniques will create interest towards Mathematics apart

from teaching the speedy calculation techniques. It helps students to solve mathematical

problems 10-15 times faster; we are using Indian Vedic Concepts to improve students’ skill. We

don’t use Chinese Abacus.

The E- Kids Explorer course is as captivating as it is educative. The course that brings children

and computers together. It will teach and update students’ knowledge with various computer

technologies across all age groups through a series of projects, packed with adventure and fun

E-Kids is implementing our skill development projects into schools with very low fee with the

objective of reaching out as many under privilege students as possible in particular students’

parents who are not very literate.

E- Kids also implements skill development project to special students for absolutely free of cost.

E-Kids is also in the process of developing Life Skill Development program for schools children

focusing on value education: Understand the body parts and its functionality, Conditions &

Diseases, Feelings and worries among students, Growing & Developing and Keeping healthy with

innovative project oriented animated lessons.




E-Kids is continuously getting feedback from schools in order to customize skill development

projects to suit the understanding level of the students.

CONTRIBUTION IN TEACHER ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME

E-Kids Solution Private Limited (ESPL) feels that is important to constantly reorient teachers with new teaching techniques, regulations and developments in the teacher’s training arena. The Pre & Primary Teachers Training course with Specialization in Teaching English is an effort on our part to give teachers an ultimate training program for teaching children between the age group of 1-14. For the very first time, ICT, innovative educational techniques and project themes are brought together into one course to create a unique elementary teacher’s training course. ESPL is committed to provide professional development training for teachers, who believe he or she shapes the future of a nation.

The formative years of a child are the most critical period in his life. The intelligence and personality of a child is already formed by the time he reaches age 8. Later his experiences keep building on this foundation which is already laid in early childhood. Thus, the teachers who aspire to teach children should be comprehensively trained in all aspects. Along with various approached like Montessori and Piaget’s theory of cognitive development, child psychology is given equal stress in our course component. At the pre-school level, it is extremely necessary to teach kids behavioral habits along with academics. Teaching at this level, without a professional training is not desirable because you can either make or break lives. The Pre & Primary Teachers Training Course by ESPL covers all aspects of teachers training and it also gives emphasis to 'Teaching English' as communication skills is of prime importance in today's world.
