Directions Place students in groups of 3. Closely monitor students to make sure that

the test questions they are writing are understandable. Remind them thattheir test should take less than 10 minutes for other students to take.

Have students use their Math Notebook to help them choose a topic thatwe have learned this year. If you dont keep a Math Notebook in yourclass, write a list of possible topics on the board.

Provide calculators so that students can check their answers for theiranswer key.

Discuss with the students that teachers often have two differentclasses, and they have to separate the different class data to compare.I always give the example that class one has a lot of students who getbetween 90-100%, so I know I did a good job teaching. If my second classaverages around 50%, then I probably need to teach it again to that class.

This activity works best if the teacher collects, organizes, and distributesthe tests. It can get confusing and hectic with the two different testinggroups. I separate the 6 completed tests for each group and labeledthem group 1 and group 2 to differentiate between the two differentgroups of students who took the test. Each group will make 6 copies oftheir own test to be taken by 2 groups of 3, and each individual student will

take 2 different tests. If youre uncomfortable having students put their names on the tests

they take, have them come up with a fun code name that only they willknow.

You must be able to correctly answer these test questions.
