Projxstudio – how it worksProjxstudio provides a familiar userinterface that is divided into twoparts. On the left hand side is thenavigator window and on the rightthe launch pad window. The treestructure provides an overview of theproject and associated resources.

At the top of any tree is the projectroot icon, which represents thecovering project. This in turn willcontain PLC, HMI, Servo/Motion andSCADA projects, according to theoverall scheme. Multiple PLC projectscan be represented, enabling evenvery complex systems to be readilyvisualised.

Navigator WindowThe navigator window displays theproject in a tree structure. Scroll bars are displayed if the project treeexceeds the window size. Each entryin the tree is displayed with an iconand a user defined text.

Automation Configuration Management

Graphical Launch Pad WindowProvides the graphical area for theproject components and icons foradditional user defined files. Eachproject item within the navigatorwindow is automatically representedin the launch pad window, and canbe freely positioned.

Project ClarityUsers can quickly draw coloured linesbetween the icons to clearly indicatethe relationships between them. Userdefined files can be readily added to the launch pad window. Typicalfiles might include technical manuals,operations manuals, video files,maintenance procedures and partslists. A background image can also be imported into the launch padwindow to aid project clarity.

Simple to add new itemsNew project items are added to thenavigator window by clicking on theappropriate icon in the tool box menuat the top of the application window.Clicking on an icon automatically opensthe project properties dialogue fornaming the project, adding comments,defining the project path and selectingthe correct MELSEC programmingapplication
