PROLAM® PREFERRED
Prolam® Preferred Calculator is a stand alone Acrobat file which does not require installation. It has a built in powerful calculation program complete with database and does not need any external files.
It is so simple to use, you wonder why no one thought of it before!!As it is an Acrobat file it can be used on any platform and requires only the free Acrobat Reader. Most computers do have it installed, if not, go to www.adobe.com and download the latest Acrobat Reader and install it on your system. It is best to use version 8 or above.
The Prolam® Preferred Calculator requires virtually no training to use it. Page has a step by step guide to make you absolutely comfortable using the Prolam® Preferred Calculator.
INSTRUCTIONSFill in the date, job description and the description for the page. The date & job description will automatically repeat on each page.Then fill in the boxes after the red text with the span, setback, etc. and select the tick boxes for the appropriate conditions. Press the Calculate Button.The recommended Prolam® products are displayed. Choose one or both by ticking any of the buttons displayed by the products. To alter any of the details, make the changes and press the Calculate button again.The details will stay in the form until you exit the Prolam® Preferred Calculator. When complete print out the Summary, Producer Statement, Design Data and Fixing & Support Details. Each page can be repeated by printing out the result and re-entering new data. When complete, print out the Summary, Producer Statement, Design Data and Fixing & Support Details. If you own Acrobat Standard or Professional, you can save your calculation and continue with it another time by renaming the file to suit, e.g. your job name/number. Acrobat Reader will not allow you to save the file with the form details, however, you can print it out as hard and electronic copies. To print out an electronic copies, go to the print box and select Microsoft XPS Document Writer as your printer. If this is not on your system, you can use Microsoft Image Writer, but this does result in larger & individual files and the print quality is not as good as an XPS file. Other document writers such as Paperport can also be used.Free Microsoft XPS Document Writer & Reader (as a standalone program) can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B8DCFFDD-E3A5-44CC-8021-7649FD37FFEE&displaylang=en Download XPSEP XP and Server 2003 32 bit.msi (32 bit) or XPSEP XP and Server 2003 64 bit.msi (64 bit). If not sure select the 32 bit.Installation is fast and simple.
