prologue-around the world in 27 generations
TRANSCRIPT
Tina studied the globe. Her father had bought it for her on one of his business trips. She had memorized nearly all of the countries, and some of
their names were rubbing off from her tracing her fingers over it. She wanted to see the world someday.
Her mom told her about the wonders of airplanes and ways to travel. She also told Tina about how expensive traveling was.
…But Tina’s thirst for travel still was not satisfied. She still wanted to travel with her parents, but little did she know, she might not get the
chance to…
Tina was practicing her dancing one night, and her mother decided to make some toaster pastries for the family.
Unfortunately, Mrs. Traveller was distracted by the irresistible beat of the music, and the toaster pastries burned…
Soon, Mrs. Traveller’s dancing wasn’t the only thing on fire.
Mr. Traveller was there in a flash to help, but he was as useless as when Tina had been born.
She ran to the kitchen, only to run headfirst into the wall. She smelled smoke and ran outside, still a little disoriented.
There was a window on the other side of the kitchen that Tina looked through. When she saw her parents and the fire, she ran down the
street to get help from the neighbors.
The Firefighters said the only thing that could really be salvaged was a certain globe on the second floor…
Tina decided that she had to carry on the family name in honor of her parents, and their family’s love of traveling.
