Join us in celebrating this holiday season by bringing beauty and imagination to the Stony Brook Village Center! Promenade of T�ee38TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY FESTIVAL RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPANTS: 1. All community organizations are eligible to decorate a tree for the “Promenade of Trees” to be on display December 3 through January 2. 2. A detailed description of the decoration theme and materials to be used must be indicated on the registration form. 3. Registration forms are due Friday, November 17. 4. A donation of $25 must accompany the registration form. A portion of your donation will go to the Santa’s Children’s Fund which provides food and clothing for needy children and families. 5. Trees will be installed by The Ward Melville Heritage Organization in appointed places throughout the center. Each tree will bear an identification number tag. Trees in the Harbor Crescent will be in the “100 Series”; those in Inner Court, the “200 Series”; those in Market Square, the “300 Series”. The Ward Melville Heritage Organization will produce flyers listing each tree number and group name. These will be available in all shops throughout the season. 6. Trees are to be decorated Sunday, December 3. The tree number should remain on the tree so that visitors can identify it. 7. TREES MUST BE FULLY DECORATED USING NON-PERISHABLE, WEATHER- PROOF MATERIALS. (See suggestions) NO FOOD OF ANY KIND MAY BE USED FOR DECORATIONS. This applies to pet food and bird feeders. REMINDER: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR TREE IS FULL OF ORNAMENTS! 8. TREE DECORATIONS MUST BE FIRMLY SECURED TO WITHSTAND WIND, RAIN AND SNOW OVER A PERIOD OF ONE MONTH. 9. Tree decorations may be removed Wednesday, January 3. Any decorations not removed from trees by Thursday morning, January 4 will be discarded. 10. The Ward Melville Heritage Organization has the right to remove decorations that we feel may be offensive to the general public. It is only intended as a guideline. • Recycled plastic containers • Pine cones, sweet gum tree balls & seed pods • Outdoor ribbon • Buttons or sequins sewn on fabric • Sea shells • Pipe cleaners • Wooden dowels or wood cut into other shapes • Ice cream sticks • Plastic or wooden beads strung into shapes or used as garlands • Plastic egg cartons • Tinsel or other metallic products • Wooden spring clothespins • Laminated photos or laminated flat paper decorations A Suggested List of Materials for CreatingTree Ornaments
