I grew up with the ‘Great Commission’of Mark 16:14-15. Jesus appeared tothe disciples as they sat at meat andupbraided them with their unbelief andhardness of heart, because they didnot believe them which had seen Himafter He was risen! But it is very interest-ing that, in the midst of their doubtingand unbelief, He gave them a commis-sion: “Go into all the world and preachthe Gospel to every creature!” We mustrealise the importance of this – thecommission, given by Jesus to the rem-nant of the believers! The Church wasn’t yet born! Understand the seri-ousness of the situation! These believershad seen their leader, their Messiah,crucified. They were enormously dis-couraged. Not long before Peter had,in fear, denied he even knew Jesus!These remaining eleven, the closest dis-ciples of Jesus, were suffering from fearand from unbelief!

If we think about revival in the Churchtoday, I know the Church ‘appears’ tohave joy, life... – Now I’m not criticising,but at my age, having been bornagain when I was 8 years old (recently Ifound amongst some old papers thecertificate of my conversion, 75 years

ago, in March 1940 – so before youwere born, I was a Christian), I HAVE tolook at the whole Church. I’m an evan-gelist, I have the largest evangelisticmission in Europe, and we can still fillstadiums with unbelievers! I speak withsome authority when I say that,although in outward appearance theChurch is alive and full of joy, theChurch as a whole needs a REVOLU-TION! If you are hungry and seeking forrevival, my answer is clear: I HAVE thefire of God! I HAVE this revival in my lifenow! The demonstration, the evidenceis in my ministry, in the tens of thou-sands who come to Christ! I want toshow you that you can have that samefire, that same power that I have!

Last year in Poland I preached to morethan 80,000 in a single day. Not onlythat, the evangelism was broadcastlive on national TV to the whole nation– a first in Europe! It was a miracle! I amconcerned about Europe. My fatherwas a great preacher and a founder ofthe Elim Churches under GeorgeJeffreys. My eldest brother was calledto India, my sister to Africa. But I knewfrom my earliest days that God had putEurope in my heart. In those daysEurope wasn’t a mission field. I first went

to Switzerland and France in1954. I preached in theInstitute Géographique inParis and I still remember 300gave their lives to Christ. Iwas just 22 years old. Godhad given me a clear visionfor Europe.

There are clear reasons why

we have to evangelise. The first is that itis the only real commission from Jesus,the first thing He commanded His fear-ful, disillusioned, unbelieving disciplesafter His resurrection. Yet first Herebuked them for their unbelief! – Mark16:14! “Why did you not believe thereports of those who saw Me alive?!” Hiscommission – and His rebuke – to theChurch, remain the same today.

The fastest growing religion in Britain isIslam. In the town where I live, in Aprilthis year, the newspapers were asking,how is it that two teenage Moslem boysbecame so radicalised that they leftthe town and joined the war in Syria?But why weren’t they asking, how is itthat two young Christian boys left thecountry to preach the Gospel andevangelise in Syria, in Europe?!! No, twoMoslem boys left the town where I live,to kill and to die. To follow a deadprophet. The conflicts raging in Iraq, inSyria, in Yemen, are the result of a divi-sion between the followers of the deadprophet. Shia and Sunni both claim tobe the true descendants ofMohammed. When we in the West sup-port one side against the other, webecome involved in a war which hasnothing to do with Christians. – Insteadwe need to be involved in a ‘battle’ forJesus Christ! Islam and Christianity donot have common origins, they are notthe same, Allah is not our God, he is notthe God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacobthrough whom Jesus came! In the townwhere I live, we have more mosquesthan Christian churches! Do you see thechallenge?!! And today Christians arethe most persecuted minority in the

‘wake up’! An awakening! Wake up! Come back to life!

world! Even our British politicians, gov-ernment, church leaders and secularnewspapers acknowledge this...

...So what is wrong with the Church?!!This is so serious! We have the mostpowerful, life-changing message in theworld! It does not kill the unbeliever, itoffers life, eternal life!!! The messagethat the Christian Church has forgottenis – FORGIVENESS! In March I was inUkraine – where Ukrainian people arekilling Ukrainian people. There is hatred.They curse each other. Kill each other.Kill the pastors. Two of my friends – shot,killed. Churches where I have evange-lised – taken, destroyed. People fleeing,in hiding. This is in Europe! And I amgoing back to Ukraine. Why? Becausethe message we have is the only mes-sage that can solve the world’s prob-lems! The Gospel of Jesus Christ! Not thepoliticians, not the military – but YOU!Christian believer, YOU have theanswer! Jesus Christ is the answer!

In Estonia, after my evangelism there in2008, the government built a Christianprison, I went to visit it whilst it was beingbuilt, members of my staff in Estoniawere involved – because the preach-ing of the Gospel does something thepoliticians, the secular governmentcannot do! In Britain 80% of prisonersreturn to their crime (and many areconverted to Islam and radicalised inprison). But in Estonia, 80% turned toChrist! A new life, the power of God inthem! You see, there is something wehave forgotten about our Christianmessage. It is the ONLY way to changemen and women.

Under communism in the 1960s and 70s,I had licenses to travel with my tourbuses in all the communist countries.Before my imprisonment in 1972, I smug-gled 150,000 Bibles and NewTestaments, preached in their under-ground churches. After my imprison-ment I continued to go back, evenheld open evangelism in Hungary in the1980s! The result was that, immediatelyafter the collapse of communism, whenPresident Ceausescu in Romania hadjust been brutally executed at theChristmas, shortly after I was in a foot-ball stadium, preaching the Gospel ofJesus Christ. And I came to the point ofmaking the appeal, telling the people

they had to repent. I told them whatJesus taught us to say, ‘Forgive us oursin, as we have forgiven those whohave sinned against us!’ I said,“Amongst the thousands of you here inthe stadium, the person sitting next toyou, or behind you, is a member of theSecuritate, the Secret Police, and hewas probably responsible for puttingsomebody in your family in prison.Maybe they killed your son, your hus-band, your father. But God says, youhave to forgive them – if you want Godto forgive you.” My translator was ayoung man from the Bible School. Helooked at me, “I cannot say this. I knowwhat the Securitate have done. Howcan I tell these people that they mustforgive?” But I said, “If you want God toforgive you, you have to forgive!” Hecouldn’t translate. Fortunately the pas-tor, who wasn’t fluent in English, sawand understood what was happening.He stepped forward and translated forme so strongly, I’ll never forget whathappened. The power of God camedown, thousands repented, it was amiracle – God had changed their lives!That’s what conversion is. A change.Transformation. It is not enough to say ‘Iwas converted.’ Jesus said, “You mustbe born again!” When I was 8 yearsold, I was born again! This is the miracleof evangelism!

I want to show you how in Romans 1:16,Paul says the most amazing thing: ‘I amnot ashamed of the Gospel of JesusChrist. Why? Because IN THE GOSPEL ISTHE POWER OF GOD!’ The power of Godin the Church is the Gospel you preach!The power in my life – is the Gospel Ipreach! The authority of the words Ispeak – is the Gospel of Jesus Christ!My power, my authority, my strength,my evidence – it’s in the Gospel Ipreach! A Gospel of power and author-ity. I have authority in Jesus’ Name,authority even over the weather. Manytimes, when preaching in the open air,especially in Russia andUkraine, I have commandedthe wind and the rain to go.Sixteen years ago in Asbest,on the opening night in thestadium, a black stormcame. I commanded it togo; it rained all around thestadium, but in the stadium itwas dry! An unbelieving man

was there with his believing wife. Nextday he told his wife (to her surprise), toget ready to go to the stadium! Whydid God allow the rain to come on theFriday? – So that He could show theextent of His power, that it is not limitedto material or spiritual things, that theGod who can control the weather, cancontrol men! Why? Because there ispower in the Gospel! That unbelievingman said to his wife, “I have heardmany preachers, they had no convic-tion. I have never before heard apreacher who could command a stormto go away!” That night he gave his lifeto Christ – because he saw the powerin the Gospel!

A few years ago I was preaching in afootball stadium in Amsterdam. Againthe same thing. By the time the musicprogramme was coming to an end, therain began. I told the people, “Don’tleave, God will stop the rain!” HuwPriday, the opera singer, was on theplatform with the stage director, whowas tracking the storm on his computer.When I commanded the rain to go inJesus’ Name, they both saw on themeteorological website on the com-puter a hole appear in the cloudsabove the stadium! The rain was allaround, but in the stadium it was dry!This is the demonstrative power andauthority of the Gospel!

An enormous miracle has happened inmy ministry. Every country where I evan-gelise, the government accepts what Ido in an incredible way. So much sothat in Poland last year, although thegovernment is largely ‘Catholic’, andthe Church in Poland is Catholic, thegovernment authorised all 5 State TVchannels to transmit 2 days of the 3-day evangelism live to the nation! Thathas never happened in the history ofEurope! Nothing like this. Ever. Why?Because two years before when we first

evangelised on a large scale in Poland,the result was so powerful, the govern-ment SAW the EVIDENCE of the POWERof the Gospel! Do you see? The Gospelwe preach has POWER to changenations, to transform men, to work mira-cles.

I want you to understand that theWHOLE of the power of God is – in theGOSPEL! Paul said, “The power of God isin the message you preach!” – Romans1:16! What was the power of Jesus? Itwas the message He preached! Readthe whole of the Acts of the Apostles – Ichallenge you! Read it! Read it again!It’s not just a ‘book in the Bible’. It’s thestory of the first Church – and it shouldbe the story of the Church today! That’sthe revival I have!

Evangelism is my life! I first preached asa boy in church aged 13. We did every-thing – printed flyers, handed them out,had a worship group, people came in, Ipreached from the Bible. But to myshock nobody repented! I went hometo my father, “What was wrong? Ipreached from the Bible like you, Italked about Jesus, but nobody repent-ed!” My father said something whichhas directed and controlled my lifeever since, “In the Bible, Jesus gives youthe answer. He says, ‘When the HolySpirit is come, He – the Holy Spirit – notyou the preacher – will convict theworld of sin, righteousness and judge-ment to come.’ The Holy Spirit will dothe work!” – John 16:8. “Son, you needthe Holy Spirit!” He laid his hands on me.Nothing happened. It took me threemonths to receive – in those threemonths I learned my next lesson – toempty my life of all self-will, so thatthere would be room for the Holy Spiritto totally fill me. Those three months arethe reason I am who I am today.

There is something else the Church hasforgotten. In my early days all thepreachers preached Heaven – andhell. Pastoring my first church aged 18, Ilived in lodgings. One time an elderlyChristian came to stay in the samehouse. It was near the south coast and Itook him in my car to the sea. He worean old black suit, although he had

money, he never spent any! When wegot to the beach he insisted on walkingthe whole day, up and down the prom-enade, in a sandwich board! The plac-ard on the front said, ‘You’re going tohell!’, and on the back, ‘The end of theworld is nigh!’ I was a young man – Ididn’t spend two seconds with him!

Yes but, the problem is this, we haverun away from the truth! As a youngpastor I sometimes had to take funeralservices, a wonderful opportunity topreach the Gospel! Recently I watchedthe funeral of a celebrity, and after-wards someone accosted the minister,because that famous man was anungodly unbeliever. Many preachers,pastors, priests lose all sight of the Bibleand lie when they conduct a funeral!They talk about the resurrection of thedead as if all who have a ‘Christian’burial will have eternal life. A child dies.What do they say? That child is now astar in the sky. Atheists and unbelievers,most have some kind of belief in anafterlife. The truth is, when you die, youeither go to Heaven – or to hell! There ISlife after death. Every man, everywoman will appear before thejudgement seat of Christ, andthe end is Heaven or hell. Norites, ceremonies or massesafter death, can changeyour eternal future. The deci-sion is made here! Youdecide for Christ, or youreject Him. Jesus said, “YouMUST be born again. Unless aman is born again, he CAN-NOT enter the Kingdom ofHeaven.” – John 3:5.

What a challenge topreach the Gospel! Theresponsibility is not just on peo-ple like me, it’s on YOU also! What if,when we get into Heaven, Jesus willask, “How many did you bring withyou?! You came alone, yet the Gospelchanged your whole life?! Didn’t youtell somebody?!” It’s wonderful to be aChristian, but one minister said to me,‘The Church is singing and dancing andrejoicing – whilst the world is going tohell. There is no concern. They are notinterested in evangelising.’ But mywhole life is to bring other people intothe Kingdom.

The world is in a crisis. Britain is in a cri-

sis. Absolute confusion. Nobody knowswhat will happen. We face disaster. Thegovernment legalises much of what issin in the Bible, justifying it. The Churchin general doesn’t believe the Bible;leading theologians say we have tounderstand the Bible in the ‘light ofmodern civilisation’. Homosexual mar-riage – it’s a way of life, even for churchministers. It is not politically correct toquote the Bible on these issues. You canbe sent to prison. How much longerhave we got left to preach the Gospel?I was praying over this at the beginningof this year, and I believe God said tome that we have a maximum of sixyears! The strongest things that will stopyou and me, under European law, are‘freedom of speech’, ‘sexual equality’,‘political correctness’. You cannot anylonger say sin is sin. But the Bible saysthe greatest sin is to reject Christ! Thebiggest threat to the Church is secular-ism. According to former FrenchPresident Chirac, secularism creates adry river bed of atheism which draws ina flood tide of militant religion. So thebiggest problem in France today is –militant religion! France has the largest

Moslem population in all Europe.

We’re facing tremendous problems! Ineed to shock you and shake you! The

situation is desperate! When we diethere is no second chance. Oh God,raise up evangelists! I want to pass mytorch on to someone else. Father, lighta fire in people’s hearts. Church, we’reliving in the last days before the returnof Christ! We have a phenomenalopportunity, maybe a last opportunity,to preach the Gospel! Holy Spirit, wakeus from our sleep! Save Europe by thepreaching of the Gospel!

In recent years I have held large-scaleevangelism in Lithuania and the impacton the nation was tremendous. We hadthe cooperation of all churches anddenominations. After we had finishedthe second mission (we had 15,000attending every day), I received a lettersigned by the heads of every single par-ticipating denomination – Catholic,Lutheran, Evangelical, Pentecostal andOrthodox. They thanked me for the tensof thousands who received spiritualconsolation and comfort. They said,‘Every participating church receivedmany new believers.’ And they thankedme for uniting every Christian denomi-nation in a common purpose in Christ!

But it was not just ‘mass’ evangelism –we taught ‘personal’ evangelism – sothat every church became involved,and after the tens of thousands came toChrist, all the churches continued evan-gelising! Last year in Poland, the mostimportant part of the mission was that,for one year before the big event, wehad 250 people working together,teaching street evangelism; 17,000 werewon for Christ on the streets before themass evangelism! My job is not only toevangelise – but to encourage YOU todo the same thing! Personal evangelismis so important – it’s what YOU do! Astudy has shown that more people areconverted by personal contact than bycrusades, except when there is revival!

It is important in evangelism thatChristians publicly stand together. WeMUST have a united front. Jesus, in Hislast instructions to His disciples – and tous – before His crucifixion, said it is ourunity that demonstrates who He is! So inevangelism we must work together! Theone thing in the whole of the history ofLithuania that brought the churchestogether – was evangelism! Forget yourtheological differences – one thing weshould agree on is preaching JesusChrist! I don’t care what denominationyou are. If you believe the Bible and youpreach Christ, then I am one with you.

When the churches get back to this,we’ve taken the first step towardsrevival. And the world outside will see!

As an evangelist I need to find out whatunbelievers say about the Church.Unbelievers say two things: one, you’renot united; and two, you have no mes-sage! To the person outside, the Churchdoes not appear to have a message!One criticism made of Jesus was thatwhen He had dinner in the local restau-rant, He wasn’t eating with religiouspeople, He was with the sinners! Thedanger with the Church is that we havelost sight of the world outside! There wasa strict group called the PlymouthBrethren who took the Scripture that wedon’t fellowship with unbelievers to suchan extreme, that one believing wife Imet was not allowed to eat dinner withher husband! What impact did thathave on the husband?! – He didn’twant to know the God his wife wor-shipped! We mustn’t isolate ourselvesfrom the world.

For 30 years I was working with theunderground churches in the commu-nist countries. They developed a perse-cution mentality – it became a questionof just ‘holding on’ to the faith. For 30years they lost the sense of evangelism,just ‘survival’... Today in Britain churchesare getting smaller and older becausethey don’t evangelise – and it is saidthat within 15 years the majority of statechurches will have closed. I had toteach the Russian churches to comeout of this persecution mentality andnot be afraid. Some of my most suc-cessful ministry in the communist coun-tries was under the most extreme perse-cution! For example in Hungary in the1980s the Catholic churches invited me!We couldn’t advertise, but I preachedChrist and miracles happened! Thenumbers grew from church to church,village to village until so many peoplecame, the priest and I couldn’t get inthe door! Eventually we took theCatholic Cathedral in Budapest! Under

communism we had5000 people! The gov-ernment banned meand punished the priests– but after 3 months,they called me back!And the CommunistMinister of ReligiousAffairs himself asked meto hold a large crusade –on one condition, that Ibring every denomina-

tion in the country together! And it wasthe government who set up the meet-ing with the heads of every churchdenomination! That’s the power of God!Even the communists saw the blessingwhen all church groups work together!Thousands came and I had completefreedom to evangelise!

People ask why I hold these big mis-sions. Firstly, time is short. God hascalled me to reach the whole ofEurope. I don’t know anyone with quitethis vision. It has to be big because Idon’t have time now to do what I wasdoing under communism. In Russia afterthe freedom came, I evangelised inover 250 towns and villages – tremen-dous! I used to spend 3 months at atime in Russia! But I can’t do that now.So when I evangelise, it has to be big.And then there is the urgency of thedesperate times we live in.

But what is the purpose of evangelism?– We will never convert the world! EvenJesus in His ministry didn’t convert thewhole of Israel. He used to preach tomore than 10,000 people at a time.How many were left? In the UpperRoom at Pentecost only 120. So what isthe responsibility of the Church, of theChristian, and of the evangelist? As ateenager I argued with my father, nightafter night, “If, after we die, we goeither to Heaven or hell, God MUST giveevery person a chance! How can Godjudge people and condemn them to alost eternity if they have never heardthe truth?!” But the Bible says, ‘how shallthey hear without a preacher?’ Thisbecame a major issue in my life, drivingme with a sense of responsibility – thesame responsibility of every Christian –to tell the people round us who Jesus is!The world outside NEEDS to hear aboutJesus, and every person must thenmake their choice. You chose when youcame to Christ! Will you serve Jesus – orthe devil?! Will you live for yourself, or forChrist? But somebody told you aboutJesus! Your decision was to accept Him.

The ONE thing that drives me so PAS-SIONATELY is to reach tens, hundreds ofthousands! I know that not everyone willreceive Christ. But I want the world toknow WHO Jesus is and the way of sal-vation! The biggest sin is not murder! Notterrorism! It’s the rejection of Christ! Buthow will they accept or reject if theyhave never heard? To me, this is theissue facing the Church: not that every-one in your city will be converted, but

that everyone in your city WILL HAVE ACHANCE – to accept or reject Christ.God put me in a communist prison tolearn the truth. It changed my life,because for a year I was living with theworst criminals and sinners – my bestfriend was a murderer. But I realised howGod saw those men. He didn’t see theircrime, He saw their potential, what Hecould do with them. One time evange-lising in Russia, I had lunch with the pas-tors in the city, all except one had beenin prison, the one exception – his fatherwas secretary to the communist party!Worse than the rest! You see, God doesn’t look at the sinner as being‘impossible’ – He wants to change men!God’s touch made them powerful‘shepherds’!

Some people become discouragedwith evangelism. They tell me, the rea-son they don’t evangelise is becausesome of the converts go back into theworld. But Jesus said, the Christian is likethe sower. Only some seed falls on goodground, some falls amongst the thorns,some on stony ground. So even Jesussaid, not everyone will accept! But theymust all hear! What changed me waswhen my father said, the Bible says,“How shall they hear without a preach-er?”

But you don’t have to be like me to bean evangelist. Every one of you can bea witness: the majority of Christians inBritain were not converted by an evan-gelist, but by personal witness – of theirfamily, their friends, work colleagues.You have a responsibility. If we couldwake the Church up! – The responsibilityof every born again believer is to tellsomebody about Jesus! I didn’t start asa ‘big evangelist’. As a teenager, everySunday after church, we would go inthe street, start singing, then talk aboutJesus! Only last year in London a mancame up to me, “David, 70 years ago Iwas an unbeliever and I heard youspeaking in the open air in the streetand I laughed at you! But today, I loveyour Jesus!” That’s an encouragementto YOU! This could happen with YOU!When I was 18 at Bible College, everyFriday we would go to Speakers Corner,Hyde Park, in London – and preach theGospel! Every week we won people forChrist! I learnt how to get a crowd bytalking about Jesus!!

Too many make the mistake of ‘preach-ing theology’. But I want to tell you thatevery one of you has the potential to be

a better evangelist than me. Manyyears ago a wise man told me, “If youpreach religion, people will argue withyou. But if you give your testimony,nobody can argue!” The most powerfulwitness to an unbeliever is when you tellthem what Jesus has done for you.We’ve lost our message – YOU are thepower of the Gospel! Every one of you isa miracle! Tell people that the Jesuswho saved you, can save them! Jesusdelivered me! – People would ratherhear me talk about that, about myexperience, than all the preaching onreligion. Forget it. Talk about Jesus! Tellthe world about Jesus! YOU are thepower, YOU are the evangelist! YOU willreach people I will never reach. Prayover your family, pray them into theKingdom. A woman told me about herson, a drug addict, “He goes out and Idon’t know where he is...” I said, “Everynight when he’s out, go to his bedroom,pray over his pillow, weep tears – andyou will win him for Christ. Don’t con-demn or criticise him, pray him into theKingdom!” God will hear and see thetears of every praying mother. – If onlyyou realised the power that you havewith God to win your family, yourfriends, your loved ones! Personal wit-ness! I want to tell you, YOU have amore powerful message than I have –because YOU know what God has donein YOUR life! It’s time YOU began to tellthe world! Who will work the miracles?Not the pastor, not the evangelist, noteven you. It’s Jesus! So let’s talk aboutJesus! When you’re at that dinner party –talk about Jesus! When you’re with yourfriends – talk about Jesus! Then see whatGod will do!

The important thing isnot to preach at peo-ple, don’t condemn thedrug addict, the sinner,and say, “You shouldn’tdo it.” – He alreadyknows he shouldn’t do it.Why is he a sinner, adrug addict? Becausehe doesn’t know Jesus!

Jesus will set him free.

Churches, for God’s sake – get TOGETHER!Plan some evangelism. Let the worldsee we believe in the SAME Jesus!Individuals, you have a powerful testi-mony. I had a year in a communistprison, and I was preaching the Gospelin the prison. I determined that I had toshow those ungodly men that Godanswers prayer. So I began to pray, “IfYou could get Paul and Silas out ofprison by a miracle 2000 years ago –that’s what the Bible says – You can doit today!” I prayed my way out of theprison! Instead of ten years, after oneyear God sent the British Prime Ministerto arrange my release, and I flew homeon the airplane with him – an ungodlyman, but God touched him! Andbecause of that miracle, I was invited totravel all over the world: everyone wasasking the same question, “Why did thePrime Minister rescue you from prison?”– I told them, Jesus is alive! As a result ofthis miracle, I preached to hundreds ofthousands and in 2 years I led a quarterof a million people to Christ! Why? It wasmy testimony! Not preaching! Israel Monday 4 May – Yes TV, the equivalent of Sky 1 inUK, broadcast David’s message live to the whole nation!This was a first ever in history! From the most prestigiousvenue in Jerusalem, against the most iconic background,David told the Jewish people, Holocaust Survivors andtheir descendants, about their Messiah.

In his message – because it was live to the whole nationof Israel, and in the context of the current Middle Eastconflict – David said the following:

‘You owe your existence in Israel to a miracle. Out of suf-fering God brings victory. Israel was born out of the suffer-ing and desperation of the Holocaust in fulfilment ofprophecy. God is a Deliverer. In Egypt, God saw the suf-fering of His people and He came down to deliver. TheGod of Abraham – who sent Yeshua 2000 years ago – willalways deliver Israel, whatever the crisis. Yeshua, yourJewish Messiah, is coming back in your crisis today. Israel

will never be defeated – God will not allow it. The God ofIsrael will deliver your nation – be ready to receive Him! Iknow the exact moment when He comes – it’s when youcry out as a nation, “Oh that You would rend the Heavensand come down!” – Isaiah 64:1. – He will come when youcall! And He will deliver you now, you don’t have to wait –He wants you, He wants you to call on Him now, becauseHe is concerned about your nation, and He is concernedabout you! God loves Israel, He so loves you, He sent HisSon to forgive your sin and heal your sickness!’

The entire audience stood to call on the Name of Yeshua,Jesus, their Messiah! One of our organisers said after-wards, “David when you came in 2011, 2012, 2013, youopened a door of evangelism to unbelievers in Israel thatno one thought possible – now others can go through thatdoor. This time in Israel you have broken open a new doorof evangelism on a level so high, no one ever dreamt itcould be opened!”
















I want to pay tribute to the people whoorganise my evangelism for me. I couldn’tdo it without those whom God hasbrought to me! To me, evangelism is likeDavid of old, building the Temple. Heasked Nathan the prophet, “Do I do it?”Nathan’s reply is significant to pastors andevangelists today: “Do what is in yourheart!” If it’s not in your heart, you’ll neversucceed. The Gospel is in my heart. It’smy whole life. I’ve been preaching fromthe age of 12.

When I entered Bible College aged 18, Iwas impatient: “Jesus is coming, I shouldbe out there, preaching the Gospel!” –God saw my heart. I had only been in col-lege 3 months when I was asked to takeover a church whilst the pastor was away.Hallelujah! Then three months later, it wasthe summer vacation. For the other stu-dents, holiday. But for me, college is onvacation, I’ve only got the church, whatdo I do?! My first thought: borrow a tent,put it up in a field – and evangelise! Noneof the students would help. Holiday! Theonly people I could find were 2 warrefugees, a Russian ballerina and a Polishman who had been forced to serve in theGerman SS! Every time I spoke, peoplegot saved!

My ministry, what I do today, is based onJoel 2:28-29, ‘It shall come to pass that Iwill pour out My Spirit on all flesh, yoursons and your daughters shall prophesy,your old men shall dream dreams, youryoung men shall see visions, AND on theservants and handmaids...’ The outpour-ing of the Holy Spirit is not just on the peo-ple at the top! Verses 30-32 get me excited, ‘And I will show wonders in theHeavens and on the earth, blood and fireand pillars of smoke. The sun shall beturned into darkness and the moon intoblood before that great and terrible dayof the Lord comes. And it shall come topass, that whosoever shall call upon theName of the Lord shall be delivered. For inMount Zion and in Jerusalem shall bedeliverance, and in the remnant (outsideJerusalem) whom the Lord shall call.’

I love the fire and the power of God, theexcitement when God is working! I love to‘provoke’ God into action! God respondsto that! One reason why I got out of mycommunist prison after only one year – byan absolute miracle – was because I wasall the time ‘provoking’ God, “Oh God, ifYou could get Paul and Silas out of prisonby an earthquake 2000 years ago, Yourpower isn’t any less today!” But most peo-ple think it is!! The attitude of the Church isthat God cannot do what He did in theBible! But to me, God becomes bigger,more glorious, more powerful every daythat I live! The Bible says, ‘Jesus Christ – thesame yesterday, today and forever’ –God doesn’t change! But my understand-ing of God is changing, increasing – fromglory to glory, from power to power. IfGod did it yesterday, I expect Him to domore today! Not less! After God got Peterout of prison, he knocked on the doorwhere the church were praying, but theysaid, “It can’t be Peter, he’s in prison!”Even the early Church had their doubtsand lack of expectation about God’sability to answer prayer and do what theyasked!! God HAD to get me out of prison,because I said, “I’m preaching Christ andI need a practical demonstration that thisGod I’m talking about will get me out –then they’ll believe!” And God workedthe miracle!

One of the reasons I’m accepted in Israelby the Holocaust Survivors is that the firsttime I went, they said they would onlycome IF this Yeshua, the Jesus of the Biblethat I preach, IS the Messiah, then HeMUST work miracles! I agonised in prayer.Everything depended on God doingwhat He says! It was a tremendous test ofmy faith. Afterwards I asked if they weresatisfied? They said God worked more mir-acles than they expected! A former KGBColonel, a Russian-speaking Jew andhead of one of the Survivor organisationssaid, “All my people must hear the wordsof this preacher!”

The significance of Joel 2 is that God says,“In the last days I will pour out My Spirit onALL flesh!” That means you can go into

any country in the world, toany people, and take theWord of God with you, andGod will pour out His Spirit!In Israel, Russia, Poland,Europe, wherever I go, IKNOW God will pour out HisSpirit! He said so! When theBible says it, God cannotfail, He does what He says!

I am so strongly remindedof the words of Balaam(Numbers 23: 19-20) whowas paid, bribed, to curse

Israel. He couldn’t do it! They raised thebribe so high, made so many sacrifices –and still Balaam couldn’t do it! Then thisungodly man Balaam says the mostamazing thing, something the Church hasforgotten, “God is not a man, He cannotlie, GOD ALWAYS DOES WHAT HE SAYS.Whom He says He has blessed, I cannotcurse. God is stronger than I am, He willoverride and overrule me, and He willbless!” If only you knew, the moment youcome into the family of God, into thecovenant of God – all the demons in hellcannot curse you or destroy you! You area child of God, you’re under protection,under grace – and even if we commit sin,if we confess our sins, God is faithful andjust and will forgive us! My father taughtme, “When you are saved, you are savedfrom your sins of the past, of the present,and even the sins of the future are underthe Blood!” The Bible says Jesus is alive atthe right hand of the Father, constantlyinterceding for us – prayer going on at thehighest level, Jesus pleading with HisFather, “Look, I gave My life for them – forgive them for My sake!” You areblessed, you cannot be cursed!

I think one reason Christians do not evan-gelise is that they are not certain enoughof their own salvation! If only you were ascertain and as positive as I am! I KNOWGod cannot lie and cannot fail... I havesuch a wonderful salvation, I want toshare it! I have so much to thank God for,not only that He delivered me from sin,but from prison, cancers... There was somuch betrayal under communism... sev-eral attempts have been made on mylife... God has saved me so many times,from every danger, until I’m consciousthat my life is in His hands... I’m part of thepower and glory of God!

The Word of God says in Joel 2, ‘I will showwonders in the Heavens, blood and fire –before the great day of the Lord comes...’This great outpouring of the Holy Spirit pre-cedes the return of Christ! It is for TODAY,it’s what we must EXPECT! The Churchmust expect, not only miracles, but signsand wonders... It is quite normal in myevangelism when I pray collectively forthe sick, to see one third to half the peo-ple in that meeting instantly healed. Ofevery kind of disease. But I have seen thisall my life. And not just healing. Miracles ofevery kind. You should read my book,‘Why Siberia?’! It’s the story of all the mira-cles that happened in a period of onlythree months – 21 years ago. Godanswered prayer so significantly – trans-port and airplanes and money, every sin-gle thing we needed. We went out there,400 of us, on one way tickets, we didn’thave the money to come back! But Godpaid all the bills! Church, go by faith!

EXPECT the miraculous!!!

Unity is key. On the day of Pentecost –when the Church was gathered TOGETHER in ONE place – suddenly therecame a mighty wind and filled the house– with fire from the Holy Spirit. Then Peterstood up and in Acts 2:16 says, “This is thatwhich was prophesied in the OldTestament.” God is fulfilling His Word, He’sfulfilling prophecy! Even in the life of Jesus,so often when miracles happened, it isrecorded that they happened ‘in order tofulfil the words of the prophet’. Matthew8:16-17 says Jesus healed all who weresick – in order to fulfil the prophecy ofIsaiah 53: ‘He was wounded for our trans-gressions, bruised for our iniquities – thechastisement that brought us peace wason Him, and by His stripes we are healed.’So even the healing ministry of Jesus wasthe fulfilment of prophecy. The Churchtoday is called to fulfil and to live in theoutworking of Bible prophecy! I am determined to prove the truth of everyprophecy in the Word of God! Why? –Because of the words of Balaam, anungodly man, yet who said, “God is not aman that He should lie!” He says soemphatically: GOD DOES WHAT HE SAYS!– Church, get back to this realisation!TAKE GOD AT HIS WORD! Get into theBook, find out what He says, then seewhat God is able to do!

I believe from Deuteronomy 4:32-34 andJeremiah 16:14-15, God is about to workthe greatest miracles ever seen on theface of the earth; so great, that the mira-cle of the deliverance of the children ofIsrael out of Egypt will no longer beremembered – because of what is aboutto happen in the land of the north (Russia)and in Israel!!! That’s why I went to Russia!Not just to evangelise, but to see thepower of God! Church, get involved in theaction!

When I was 14, in the war, there were only20 people in my church. I would go anhour before the Sunday evening Gospelservice – and I would pray, “Oh God savethousands.” God said to me, “I’m tired ofyour praying. Every week, when you getup off your knees, you put out the same20 chairs, so you’re not expecting theanswer! Change your praying. Say, ‘Bringone’ – and then YOU go out and get thatone!” With my friends, that’s what we did,put out the extra chair, went out in thestreet, saw a young fellow, said, “Comewith us!” He did. And he got saved. Andthe next week we prayed, “Oh God savetwo...” Went out in the street. Stoppedtwo. “Come with us!” The miracle is, theycame and they got saved! I learned thefirst lesson in evangelism. You first praythem in – and then you go and fetch

them! They don’t get saved till you bringthem in! That’s the principle I still work ontoday.

The danger is, the Church is waiting forGod. Many prayer meetings, but noaction. Wake up! God is waiting for YOUto act!!! Jesus will not come back topreach the Gospel, He comes back todeliver the Church. The responsibility topreach the Gospel is on YOU! Most peo-ple agree that the five wise and the fivefoolish virgins in Matthew 25:1-5 are theChurch! If they are the Church, all areasleep when the Bridegroom comes, andonly five get in the Kingdom! There will beno time to buy oil when the Lord comesback.

GOD IS THE ONLY ONE WHO ALWAYSDOES WHAT HE SAYS. In Acts 1:8, Jesussays, “You shall receive power after theHoly Spirit is come on you!” When I want-ed to receive the Baptism of the HolySpirit, nothing happened; why did I haveto wait three months to receive the HolySpirit? God had to show me that, if I want-ed to be filled with Holy Fire, I was too fullof myself, I had to empty my life first... Do

you fill a jug with milk that is half full of dirtywater? No! You clean the jug first. – Doyou want to be half Holy Spirit and halfself? No! If you want the fire of God,empty your jug! You’ll give God moreroom for the fire! That’s why I waited threemonths. Emptying the jug.

That Baptism, when it came, was somighty, so powerful, it seemed the roof ofthe building came off, and the angelscame down! That was on Easter Monday.But when I got to the church meeting onthe Tuesday, I felt as flat as a pancake! Allthe emotion, all the fire – gone! Nothing.Then I remembered the Word of God,‘You SHALL receive power after the HolySpirit has come on you.’ And I learnt fromthat day as a 13-year old that it’s not yourfeelings, not your emotions, IT’S WHATGOD HAS SAID! So when I began to act,the power was there! Step out in faith anduse it! If you’ve received the same HolySpirit I have, the power is only there whenyou step out in faith and use it!

What’s the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for? – Power to go out and bring the people in!

God is performing powerfulmiracles, just like in your ministry – theblind see, the deaf hear, the paral-ysed are able to walk, people getout of their wheelchairs, are healedfrom cancer and AIDS, many mira-cles – even artificial prostheses dis-solve in human bodies. Even miraclesin nature… Two years ago there wasa wildfire in Bratsk, the forest was onfire – they couldn’t stop it. We have abranch of our ministry ‘HealingRooms’ in that region. The forecastwas another week of temperaturesover 30 degrees centigrade, but weprayed, and on the following day

heavy torrential rain started and thefire was put out!

‘Today you were saying it’s not easyto preach the Gospel, people don’twant to come the churches – andthat’s why we started this ministry‘Healing Rooms’, in order to attractunbelievers, to get them saved,healed and set free. They don’t wantto go to ‘church’ – in Russia they’retold it’s a ‘sect’ – but anyone cancome to the ‘Healing Room’ – atheists, Moslems, Buddhists, anyone.And they all get miracles, and theyall receive Christ! After that they findchurches – they no longer havequestions or doubts, who the LivingGod is.

‘That’s why we draw so much fromyou, from your ministry, from youpersonally. You charge us with newenergy. The anointing you passed onto me in Barnaul in 2005, when youblessed me and my ministry, contin-ues working! One year ago I wasministering here in Israel in differentcongregations – we saw many mira-cles, and many people got saved.That’s why I would like to express mygreat gratitude to you, that youdon’t spare yourself – you are sodedicated to the Lord! How do youdo it?!’

David‘Very simple – I don’t do it in my ownstrength. We need strength from God. Ipray all the time for strength from God.Even the doctors are amazed at myhealth. When I was praying for healingfrom lung cancer in 2004, God prom-ised me two things from Jeremiah 33:6 –health and healing! The first miraclewas that He healed my cancer; onenight the whole cancer came out – Iwas staying in my German office, andafterwards they had to burn the bed!But God promised me health – thismeans, you don’t get sick! You and Iboth see miracles of healing. But a big-ger miracle is health – especially whenyou get to my age! I have the heartfunction of a young man!

‘As an evangelist, one can count thenumber of people who receive Christ.But I want to be remembered for thenumber of people – like yourself – whocame to Christ and now do what I do!You came into ministry, you receivedthe same anointing, you do what I do,AND MORE! This is what Jesus said to Hisdisciples, “The miracles that I do, youwill do – and you will do BIGGER MIRA-CLES, because I will go to My Father,and I will send the Holy Spirit!” – TheChurch has lost its greatest asset – GODWANTS THE CHURCH TO SEE AND TOWORK MIRACLES! We all read the Actsof the Apostles – but it’s the only bookin the Bible that has never been fin-ished! All those miracles – that was thebeginning of the Church! But if we arethe Church today, we need to see thesame miracles! It’s been a challenge allmy life to continue the Acts of theApostles today! The only evidence ofthe existence of God is the miraculous!For the Jew, the whole of their experi-ence is based on their writings and thecomments of the scribes – their writtenand oral traditions. To me, the evidenceof God is what you see – the miracles.Often in my meetings, I say to the unbe-lievers, “If what I am saying about Jesus

and salvation is not true, there will beno miracles. But if it’s true, God will con-firm it – by miracles!”

‘People ask me, why did the WelshRevival die out? Why do Revivals stop?The answer is, because they stop evan-gelising! We’ve got to wake up thechurches to their responsibility! Eachday in all the world 50,000 peoplereceive Jesus, 20,000 of them in China!But it’s a shock, they say every day80,000 become Moslem!!! Why?Because we’re asleep! We’re not evan-gelising. We’re not telling people aboutJesus!

‘Look! You don’t have to be a preacher,you don’t have to be an evangelist todo the job. What about your family,your friends, people you work with? Youdon’t have to take them into church.Now listen to me! NEVER argue religion!ONLY TALK ABOUT WHAT JESUS HASDONE FOR YOU! Whoever you are, youcan be the most powerful evangelist inthe world when you stop talking aboutreligion – and get excited and tell peo-ple WHAT JESUS HAS DONE FOR YOU!Get excited until they want what youhave!’

At the beginning of 2014, God said to me clearly, ‘If youwill hold on, I will give you everything I have put in yourheart.’ I believe He said it for a reason – because thatyear was going to hold some discouraging surpriseswhich would definitely not look in line with the fulfilmentof God’s promises…

But despite what I saw, I decided, I WILL hold on to allGod has said and put in my heart, even if I don’t ‘getthe picture’ and things don’t look like they should… I’mnot talking about things people have ‘prophesied’ thatare not actually from God, and because they are notthe Word of God they have no life in them and willnever be fulfilled... I’m talking about what I KNOW Godhas said!

Joseph had a prophetic dream from the Lord – twice –of who God would make him to be, exalted, honouredby his family. Of course, his brothers hate him for this,they plan to leave him for dead, but softening, sell himas a slave instead… Faithful as he was as a slave, heended in prison… And faithful as he was in prison, hewas overlooked and forgotten – until the time Godchose to remember him, and lift him into the fulfilmentof the prophecy. Psalm 105:18-19.

Now I am not a Joseph, and the promises I have in myheart are concerned with the ministry I serve and thefamily I have. But I must confess, I don’t always like theway things appear to be... Still, I have learnt I’m not incontrol of the unfolding of God’s Word – it will unfoldaccording to His plan, His way, His time. When I waspregnant with my children, all I could do was keepthem in my womb and treasure them, love them andbless them – I had no influence over what was written intheir DNA – what they would look like, what character,what destiny. Each child was born as something of anamazing surprise! In the same way when we are preg-nant with God’s promises, we cannot influence theunfolding, the development, what it will take to getfrom where we were when we received the promise inour hearts to where we must get to in order to receivethe fulfilment of the promise.

Mary knew her son was the Son of God, she ponderedthis: she remembered what the Angel had said, whatElizabeth her cousin had said, and the shepherds, whatSimeon and Anna had said; how Jesus, at 12 years old,had stayed behind in the Temple, spoken for 3 dayswith the Teachers – and what He said to her when shefound Him! She knew the prophets, what they had saidabout the expected Messiah. She identified withHannah (Luke 1:46-55; 1 Samuel 2:1-10) – she believedthe Angel, she knew in her heart that her son was theMessiah, Saviour of His people Israel – and of theGentiles. So when the wine ran out at the weddingfeast in Cana, she KNEW her son had divine authority tosolve ANY problem. She told the servants, ‘Whatever Hesays, do it!’ But shortly after, she began to think in thenatural way, until she and the family wanted to stopHim, they thought He was out of His mind! – Mark3:21&31. Only because she didn’t know how Godwould unfold and fulfil the thing He had put in herheart…

Peter also knew by revelation that Jesus was the Son ofGod, but almost immediately after, he too misunder-stood how this was to unfold. Peter had confessedJesus as the Christ, the Son of the Living God. Jesus hadreplied, ‘Blessed are you Peter, for flesh and blood hasnot revealed this to you, but My Father.’ And then Hebegan to tell His disciples about His crucifixion and res-urrection – at which Peter reacted in the natural wayand rebuked Jesus strongly, ‘Not so Lord!’ – Jesus hadto say to Peter, ‘Get behind Me Satan, you’re just think-ing like a man and not God!’ Matthew 16:16-17,21-23.

So too I misunderstand how God will fulfil His Word, butstill, like Peter, I know God’s Word is Life, Eternal Life, andI’m not letting go, I’m not going anywhere else! John6:67-68. I’m staying with what God has said. And I havecome to recognise that my thoughts are not Histhoughts and His Ways are not my ways – my thoughtsare fruitless – but His Word works! Isaiah 55:8-9,11.

Abraham obeyed not knowing. None of us knows allthe details – we must just obey.
