• Knife As he is a murderer he needs a weapon and it also connotes fear and terror.

The audi shows that he is a high ranking policeman and the cigarette is to stereotype him as a no nonsense policeman.

The clipboard is used to hold the “report” of the scene (realism) the evidence and phone are used to progress the narrative
