Propulsion122V 2.0Propulsion the word is derived from two Latin Word: pro meaning forwards and pellere

meaning to drive. Propulsion means to push forward or drive an object forward. From ancient oars

and sails to todays intelligent engines powering high speed propellers, propulsion has leaped

forward with time. Its time for us to move forward with our innovations and let our diligence do the

    talking.

With Tempest 12 Celebrating a billion aspirations , Marine Engineering And Research Institute is

presenting its technical fest Propulsion. For the last 60 years, our alma mater has been moulding

the finest marine engineers in the world. Her gallant sons have shaped todays marine industry and

many have become bigwigs in the industry.

Now its time to get wrack our technical brains out in the battleground and bring out our creative

and technical endeavour in a competitive spirit. So, we present this an acid test for the technical

skills and innovative spirit of budding engineers.

YOU NEVER REALLY KNOW HOW QUICK YOU ARE BEFORE YOU RACE

In Todays world every path is full of hurdles. The same concept is proposed here, the vehicles have to complete the track arena. The

track comprises of elevation, irregular road, and stimulate at almost every point. The vehicles must have a good balance in air as it has

to be projected in air via elevated plank.

    Problem Statement: -

Construct vehicle with specified size and weight that can complete track full of hurdles in form object, tough track and other participant

    itself.

    Rules:-

    1. Any team that is not ready at the time specified will be disqualified from competition

    2. The Machine would checked for safety before the race

    3. The name of your machine must be prominently displayed

ITS NOT STRENGHT BUT SKILL THAT GOVERNS A SHIP

So, here we challenge your skill to control and design of your ship. This event features a test for your ships control in wa ter against

your opponents. Your aim in this contest will be to destroy inflated object in their turf along with saving yours.

    Problem Statement:-

You are required to construct a ship which has a good control over its direction and is good with handling and speed.

    Description:-

    1. This is a group event; so, the contestants will be divided in groups of three.

    2. In a field, two groups will compete for a round of 5-10 minutes where they will have to burst some inflated objects of other

teams with the help of a straight steady pin that will be provided by us prior to the event.

    3. Both the groups will have their balloons marked. You have to burst the balloons of your opponent as well as protect your

    own at the same time.

    4. The group that bursts the entire opponents balloons first wins.

    5. Eventually, the last group standing contests within all three at once the vessel to blow maximum balloons wins.

    Rules:-

    1. Any team that is not ready at the time specified will be disqualified from the competition automatically.

    2. The machine would be checked for its safety before the race and would be discarded if found unsafe for other teams and

    spectators.

    3. The name of your machine must be prominently displayed.

    4. Judges decision shall be treated as final and binding on all.

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO HIT OTHERS TO MAKE YOUR WIN THROUGH

Its well-known to all of us that in life everything has its cost, you dont get anything without winning over others. This cont est is

designed keeping this fact in mind. As the name suggests, the contest allows RAMMING each others vehicle robots during the rounds.

Problem Statement: - You are required to construct a vehicle robot capable of moving on rough terrain and also must have the power

to drag objects and have a strong design against your opponents.

    Rules:-

    1. Any team not ready till the specified time will be considered disqualified.

    2. The name of your robot must be prominently displayed.

    3. Judges decision will be final and binding to all.

    4. The organisers reserve the rights to change any rules as they seem fit. Any change in the rules will be notified to registered

contestants and also will be displayed on website well before time.

    Description:-

o Your bot will enter the arena (as shown) for a round of 5-10 minutes. Also all the contestants will have their respective

parking zones where entry of other vehicles is prohibited.

o In these 5-10 minutes you have to collect maximum number of objects placed in the arena with the help of the hooks and

rings, provided by us prior to the event.

o The rings will be aligned vertically and the hooks will be aligned horizontally, your job is to place the hook in the ring (with

precise movement of your vehicle, as the hooks and rings will be steady and solid) and drag the object to your parking zone

where you are allowed to manually handle your robot.

o Also the twist comes in with this rule that during the round in the arena you are allowed to hit other vehicle robots. But only

in the arena and not in the parking zones.

o Points will be awarded for the number of objects parked as well as for the objects destroyed.

o According to your points you will advance to next round where another round will be held with the winners of the other

    group.

    o

Finally you will be ranked after this round.Team Specifications:-

o A team may consist of maximum of 5 participants.
