Brand is an integral component in everything we create – be it a product presentation, spatial design or master-planning exercise. We see someone’s personal brand as integral as the brand a range is manufactured under.

Prospace Design has built specialized capability in the manufacture and supply of interior joinery, furniture (both retail & commercial) fixtures and soft furnishings, through our office in Xiamen, China.

From a beginning in search for supply across our own projects we have developed low, medium and large scale supply solutions for a range of materials and products, that drive real commercial efficiencies into a large single or multiple site projects.

Integral to all interior projects, the quality and delivery of bespoke joinery requires a closely integrated process with both the design and build of a space, which is where our project teams expertise help deliver components to compliment local supply through to complete interior solutions.

THE TEAM DIRECTORS

Dan Eagles Australia

Dan specialises in retail and retail operations, with over 20 years of experience articulating brands within a retail space both in Australia and Asia. Prior to Prospace Dan was driving branded retail development for Billabong (GSM Group) as their Retail Creative Director.

Prior to setting up the the Austalian studio of Prospace in Sydney, Dan delivered in excess of 500 retail projects over 20 years, including the design and delivery of the largest board sports store in Australia, Kirra Surf.

When he’s not in the office Dan can be found around water or snow, or hanging out with his wife and young family.

Dan’s view of retail has been simple from the day he first started working in store, it should be fun and all about people, the customer and the staff on the floor.

Jonathon Russell China

Jonathan joined Prospace after a career in general management most notably within one of the world’s largest dairy companies, Fonterra and at one of the most famous ad agencies, Saatchi + Saatchi. He has worked extensively with retailers from supermarket chains to fashion outlets and is passionate about the world of retail.

He has extensive knowledge of shopper marketing best practice and is passionate about rewarding shoppers with great retail experiences and ensuring retail is an immersive brand experience.

Jonathan is currently in charge of our Asia office and has been tasked with developing growth in this region and facilitating the smooth interface between our clients and the manufacturing and procurement out of China.

Lars’ background has seen him work with some of the worlds leading design agencies in London, Singapore and Australia. Working across interior design and architecture Lars’ focus is on delivering fully immersive experiential retail, exhibition and commercial spaces that elevate a brands identity or in store experience.

Lars’s strategic approach working with our design team and directly with our clients helps form a compelling customer journey through a space, that creates a lasting impression encouraging brand loyalty and increasing customer spend.

Whilst Lars is highly creative leading conceptual designs on many of our projects he also has a strong focus on designing through detail and delivering practical solutions that are not only on brand but can be built on budget.

An articulate thinker and communicator, Lars gets the best out of clients ideas, bringing their visions to life with engaging and immersive design.

Rachael brings a background covering retail, hospitality, leisure and residential design, to the team. A highly gifted interior designer that balances creative thinking with practical processes that are high on detail.

With a strong technical knowledge Rachael works directly with our clients to not only offer great creative and detail design but to also problem solve in order to deliver the final product on site.

A strong communicator Rachael organises workflow in the studio, managing clients and designers. Rachael delivers end to end design work that is realised for some of our highest profile brands.

Ben is the Design Director of the team in our Australian studio, specialising in Interiors and Architecture delivering creative solutions for some of the worlds leading brands. With expertise spanning across the fields of retail, food and beverage, workspace, shopping centre and resort design, Ben looks to inspire change by forming fresh ideas that challenge conventional design thinking.

Coming from the UK Ben has worked across agencies in London delivering award winning design with large format retail and leisure projects for Global Asset Managers such as Lendlease, Henderson Global, Hammerson, and Savills across England, Spain, France, Switzerland and Germany.

Ben’s extensive knowledge in the complexities of large format design have lead for him to move to Australia to work within the Westfield Design and Construction team before joining Prospace, leading designers working across several new award winning shopping centre and leisure developments throughout the country.

Ben’s intuitive sense of brand has seen him work with leading global fashion, sports retail and automotive brands to develop engaging new design concepts that have been delivered in all corners of the globe.

THE TEAM CHINA

Richard Stanton Design Lead China

Richard specalises in designing new and unique retail concepts for global brands. Throughout Richard’s career he has delivered exciting concepts that are not only on brand but also commercially viable.

Richard has worked in some of the biggest Architecture practices throughout the world. Starting at the famous Richard Rodgers Partnership in London, where he worked on the design of the iconic Millenium Dome in London.

Richard has obtained various retail design awards throughout his career along with a Gold pin in the New Zealand Best Design Awards. Having worked in a number of vastly different countries and cultures Richard brings holistic design expertise to the Prospace team and for our clients in New Zealand and China.

Anita Liu Designer

Anita specializes in brand experience and retail environment design. Anita has a strategic approach, and is very passionate about creating value through design.

Anita commits to applying a deep understanding of user centred methods in order to inform her spatial designs. Anita is proud of her ability to bridge the gap in communication between our Chinese and Western teams.

Anita’s creative and analytical thinking have seen her work directly with clients in creating well defined brand stories within engaging spatial design.

Key Yu Graphic Designer

Keyu specializes in retail environment and micro architectural design. Keyu’s experience spans retail, interior design, and architecture with expertise in residential and office design also.

Keyu is a maker, he is meticulous with detailing and as such seeks to deliver beautifully detailed fixtures and spaces that not only provide engineered solutions to our clients but beautiful commercial driven design.

BILLABONGPACIFIC FAIR

PORTFOLIO

Prospace were engaged to collaborate with Billabong on developing the Generation 3 store concept in December 2015. The first flagship site at Pacific Fair shopping centre saw an approach that delivers a minimal aesthetic with a simple but strong materials palette consisting of concrete, brick, timber and steel finishes.

The shopfront design evolves the previous brand concept delivering painted black timber boards clad to the fascia, window surrounds and bulkhead to create a strong framing device for the interior finishes and importantly the product within the store.

A new hero video wall creates a feature at the back of the space and allows for the customer to be immersed in brand culture and an action sports lifestyle in the store. The application of the muted materials palette throughout the rest of the store allows for strong architectural forms to be defined, whilst ensuring brand imagery and product feature as the hero and don’t compete with a space that is heavy on texture.

The Pacific Fair store has become the platform for the Generation 3 concept to be delivered globally with stores in Israel and Asia already being designed using this new concept.

MIRVAC SALES BOUTIQUEPAVILLIONS SALES BOUTIQUE

Prospace were engaged late 2015 to design Mirvac’s largest residential sales boutique in Australia. The team worked with a brief to deliver ‘Everyday Luxury’ in an interior space that spoke both about the personality of the development itself whilst delivering Mirvac’s consistent brand values in a physical space through sharp interior and joinery details and a carefully selected materials palette.

The space reflected the interior and exterior of the residential development through the use of planting, a feature tree in the centre of the space and bespoke designed joinery, seating and tables.

BURLEIGH BREWINGBURLEIGH HEADS, QLD

PORTFOLIO

Prospace were approached to design the new home for Burleigh Brewing Co. A beer brewing company that is an institution in Burleigh on the Gold Coast. Our team took on an ambitious project to design a building that housed the brewing facility, a new bar and offices all under one very large roof!

Prospace designed, and managed the build of the space that opened early March 2016. The design of the interior and exterior focused on a simple materials palette that balanced industrial with rustic finishes, with the use of concrete, timber and fibre cement cladding. Lighting inside and out played a big part in setting the right tone, and a bar made from cast concrete slabs, pressed in timber, with a hot rolled steel top provides a striking feature in the space.

It was a privilege to work with such a fantastic client and deliver the vision for their new larger space that critically needed to remain rooted in authenticity and community and portray the company’s brand values of ‘Balance, Character and Soul’.

MR SIMPLEPACIFIC FAIR

PORTFOLIO

A second store for Mr Simple, this time at the newly opened extension to Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast, Queensland. The brief from the client this time was to deliver a Palm Springs inspired store that aligned with the location of the mall by the coast.

We designed a store that was intended to effortlessly stand out from the crowd. The shopfront entirely in white, rendered to deliver texture and emphasise the architectural form of the bulkhead and portal certainly turns head in the mall.

The interior takes inspiration from Californian hotels such as Ace Hotel with slatted screens that double up as feature walls for product and VM display. The minimal colour and materials palette allow the brands strong merchandising style take the lead in the space.

TONY BIANCOPACIFIC FAIR

PORTFOLIO

Prospace recently designed and managed the build of the new Tony Bianco store at Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast. Continuing our relationship with Australia’s leading designer of women’s fashion footwear.

Our client allowed us to really take the design concept to the next level with this store.

As such our team designed a space that exudes the same luxury as Tony Bianco’s product, by delivering a high level of detail through joinery design, lighting and interior features such as the rear illuminated mirror at the back of the store along with luxurious travertine clad columns and plinths. The evolution of the store concept is an exciting step for Tony Bianco that we look forward to developing in future stores.

MIRVAC SALES BOUTIQUETHE FINERY SALES BOUTIQUE

PORTFOLIO

The Finery Sales boutique located in Mirvac’s then head office cafe needed to deliver on all of the key elements of the development in Waterloo, Sydney, whilst also allowing for the cafe to function as normal, day to day. Our design importantly needed to integrate in to the space creating key touch points that spoke to the material finishes and joinery elements of the Finery Development.

We delivered a space that included newly designed joinery to hold styling elements and content on the development itself, along with a new model table, newly sourced furniture pieces throughout, along with new cladding and upholstery to existing furniture to elevate its appearance.

A timber frame wall with graphics, lighting and new signage creates a strong feature in the space that ensures it is unmistakably on brand with the Finery Development. Overall new wall finishes, new floor finishes, joinery elements and soft furnishings completely transformed the existing space, not only in to a sales suite that suited the identity of the Waterloo Development but also in to a cafe that was elevated and reinvigorated.

Mr Simple is a gentlemen’s outfitter for all occasions with stores throughtout Australia and New Zealand. The brand approached Prospace Design Studios to design and build their latest flagship store in Brisbane at Indooroopilly. Mr Simple were not interested in blending in with the crowd with their store design, and our design team produced a completely unique design for the mall that otherwise predominantly features full height glazed shopfronts.The shopfront from full height timber slats

creates a dynamic and compelling beginning to the journey in to this new store that features steel and timber custom joinery for fixtures and merchandising displays throughout. Needless to say the store which recently opened at the beginning of October 2014, is generating quite a buzz.

Following an extensive exploration of the brand and the delivery of a new design concept, the first store to have this applied was South Yarra. With a dominant shell to work with, the store required simplification and some warmth in the finishes palette.

Solid Iron Bark feature plinths, that were backlit and underlit against a minimal white wall, provide the true contrast of textures in this space, whilst the cement

feature displays, ornate leather screens and plush ottomans complete the story.

The goal was to take the existing Tony Bianco design and push it into the future. Make it feel like the product was sitting in Soho or the Meat Packing District of NYC. All feedback to date is that the new design brings the quality of the store in line with the quality of the product and creates an amazing platform for the next generation of Tony Bianco stores.

Prospace delivered Nixon’s new concept flagship store in Australia at Chadstone shopping centre in Melbourne. Working with the brand’s UK, U.S and Australia teams, Prospace provided engineered solutions for a host of new concept features and fixtures. Prospace were instrumental in the detail design delivery of the store, managing the build on site through to completion and opening.
