Under the theme of 2020 “Looking Back, Looking Forward”, we are pleased to present this prospectus seeking participation, support and sponsorship for the second annual Women in Payments Singapore Symposium to be delivered virtually October 20 - 22, 2020. The symposium offers an unparalleled forum with perspectives from key women leaders in payments and fintech, and topics impacting all aspects of the payments ecosystem and career development. Discussions are energizing and current-immediately relevant to any woman pursuing a career in payments or fintech.

Founded in 2012, Women in Payments connects, inspires and champions a growing global network of women working across the payments ecosystem. Through our annual symposia, networking events, awards and global mentorship programs, we:

UNICORN CHALLENGE

Four fintech start-ups pitch their solutions to a panel of esteemed judges and a full audience in a timed and moderated setting.

FACILITATION

Women in Payments will manage logistical details for the Unicorn Challenge, including marketing and promotion, call for competi-tors, on-site logistics, and selection and management of judges.

PRIZES

Competitors will have a chance to win the “Judges’ Choice” award which earns them a one-hour meeting with leading banks and networks. An “Audience Choice” award will also be presented to a competitor, as voted by the audience via a live-voting app.

The objectives of the Unicorn Challenge are to:

– Showcase the value and innovation that fintechs bring to the market

– Provide women fintech start-ups the oppor-tunity to practice their pitch in front of a large audience of industry stakeholders

– Demonstrate the value of collaboration and cooperation in partnerships between fintechs and market incumbents

Kristy Duncan is the founder and CEO of Women in Payments. This growing profes-sional network unites women in payments from around the globe with a shared vision of gender parity. Women in Payments supports women’s career development through its conferences, award and mentor-ship programs, and by hosting a growing online community.

Kristy is an avid supporter of her fellow female trailblazers, as investor and advisor to three women-led fintechs – FISPAN, Digital Retail Apps, and Thrive Savings. As a respect-ed leader in the field, she’s judged several accelerators, fintech contests, and global awards programs.

Before founding Women in Payments, Kristy was a leading payments and fintech consult-ant for global financial institutions, payment networks, tech firms, and more. Prior to that, she held leadership positions at a tier one Canadian bank in global transaction bank-ing, treasury, finance, and operations.

Always inspiring and insightful, Kristy is a sought-after speaker, advisor, and mentor. Innovate Finance and Lloyds Bank named Kristy to their Women in Fintech Power List in 2018 and 2017. Lattice 80 named her to their Global 100 Power Women in Fintech List in 2019 and 2018. Perhaps her greatest pride comes from inspiring the next generation of female leaders, as she mentors women in their early and mid-career levels in Canada, UK, and Brazil.

Kristy holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto.
