ProtectGuard® color : PurPose made colours

ProtectGuard® Color’s standard range comprises 42 standard colours and 8 ‘special effects’ colours (pearlescent black, pearlescent white, metal gold, metal silver, metal aluminium, metal bronze, red terracotta effect and viola green effect). According to the client’s needs and for specific projects, Guard Industry can create personalized shades.

A standard colour has an opaqueness rating of 100. Guard Industry can adapt these colours and offer a higher or lower opaqueness level, while retaining the same performances. The end colour will always depend on the initial colour of the treated surface and that of ProtectGuard® Color. A colour with a lower opaqueness level will have less obliterating properties. In this case, the initial colour of the treated surface will have an increased effect on the final colour.

The ProtectGuard® Color colour chart displays 3 levels of opaqueness per colour:• Opaqueness rating of 100 (standard opaqueness)• Opaqueness rating of 50 (1 volume of standard colour opaqueness 100 + 1 volume of clear base; that is 50:50).• Opaqueness rating of 10 (1 volume of standard colour opaqueness 100 + 1 volume of clear base; that is 10:90 %)

ProtectGuard® color : imPreGnation Product

ProtectGuard® Color is not a coating. It is an impregnation, non film-forming product: the substrate remains permeable to air and water vapour.Contrary to a paint that covers materials, ProtectGuard® Color is a semi-transparent product. The end colour will always depend on the initial colour of the treated surface and that of ProtectGuard® Color. ProtectGuard® Color is specifically suited for concrete (even fresh concrete with a high pH) and mineral render. The treatment’s semitransparency respects the material’s mineral properties.ProtectGuard® Color is an acrylic copolymer in aqueous phase with mineral pigments. This chemical composition therefore provides excellent resistance to aging and UV.

sPecific aPPlication

ProtectGuard® Color’s application is by spray on to clean, dust-free and efflorescence-free surfaces. This application needs to be as uniform as possible. an HVlP (High Volume low Pressure) spray unit is recommended. A strong air flow within the spray unit atomizes the product with low pneumatic pressure. This method allows a greater efficiency of application, with little product loss and the avoidance of excess product and resulting runs.
