MFE Profile Class of 2015/16
MSc in Financial Economics Profile
Saïd Business School
Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford blends the best of new and old. We are a vibrant and innovative business school, but yet deeply embedded in an 800 year old world-class university. We create programmes and ideas that have global impact. We educate people for successful business careers, and as a community seek to tackle world-scale problems. We deliver cutting-edge programmes and ground-breaking research that transform individuals, organisations, business practice and society. We seek to be a world-class business school community, embedded in a world-class university, tackling world-scale problems.
Corporate presentations
This remains one of the most popular ways of meeting students. They generally take place in the evening in one of the School’s lecture theatres, and typically we suggest allowing one hour for presentation and Q&A, followed by 30–45 minutes of general networking.
Targeted events
These are much smaller events, aimed at a particular group of students who match a profile sought by the employer. These events can be lunches, dinners, seminars, discussions etc. Employers can obtain access to our student CV database and run detailed searches to focus on the students who meet their criteria. Careers staff can also help employers identify suitable candidates.
Student visits to corporate headquarters
Some employers may prefer to invite a group of students to their offices. These events have proved popular with students, as they are able to tour the corporate headquarters, learn about the different parts of the business and experience the company’s work culture.
Advertise a vacancy
Employers can use our online career management system, Careers@Saïd, to post and manage an unlimited number of jobs, as well as set parameters for the job openings. The system can manage the applications, and send email reminders to employers when a student applies for a job, or when the posting is about to expire. You can register on Careers@Saïd through the following link: https://sbs-oxford-csm.symplicity.com/employers/
