PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

Our Mission

Through philanthropy, Providence Hospital Foundation is an advocate for those in need, and ambassador for the mission of the hospital, and a steward of the resources entrusted to it.

Our Purpose

Established in 1984, Providence Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit organization which receives charitable gifts to Providence Hospital. The Foundation manages donors’ gifts according to donors’ wishes, to support the continuing healthcare ministry of the Daughters of Charity in Mobile, Alabama. The Foundation allows the hospital to reach many people it might not otherwise be able to help. The Foundation works with the Hospital in meeting the identified needs of the communities we serve. Contributions to the Foundation help to fund programs, buildings and equipment.

Dear Supporters,

During Fiscal Year 2018, Providence Hospital along with the Foun-dation celebrated twenty-five years of the Festival of Flowers. The Foundation’s iconic annual fundraiser continues to be one of the most successful events, not only for fundraising, but as a tourist at-traction for the entire Mobile area. The money raised at the Festival each year is earmarked for special projects for the hospital which in turn serves our community. We work very hard to achieve a high standard of compassionate care. With the Foundation’s support and the support of our health system, we began multiple projects across our health ministry to provide better access to care to improve the health of our community.

One of the major projects for 2018 was the $1.5 million dollar renovation to the cardiac monitoring floor located on the 10th level of the hospital. This ongoing renovation touches every component of our patient’s experience while here at Providence. All three pods on that floor will be completed by the end of the calendar year. Another large project to bene-fit the community was the installation of a new Linear Accelerator, the newest in our market, which will be able to better serve our cancer patients with a faster, more clinically targeted radiation approach. This $4.3 million dollar project will be completed this October. Finally, Providence is also undertaking the installation of a new hybrid-OR. One of the first of its kind in the market which will allow minimally invasive procedures related to vascular and heart to be performed, as well as open cases to be performed in an Operating Room / Cath Lab hybrid room if needed. This $4.8 million project will wrap up in February of 2019.

Providence also opened a new Providence Park clinic for primary care here on campus. This new clinic will house 3 pediatricians, multiple Internal Medicine and Family Practice Physicians, along with a walk-in clinic. Providence Park Clinic opened in July and we are excited about this new access point for our community. This along with Providence’s new online scheduling through getprovidencemobilecare.com, as well as virtual care visits (patients can see a physician via phone/video), makes accessing Providence’s clinic network one of the easiest in our community.

My thanks go out to each and every patient, friend and associate who has supported Providence Hospital and the Foundation’s work. Fiscal Year 2018 was a strong year for Providence. With your support, we look forward with confidence to continuing to deliver the best in patient centered, faith-based healthcare.

Sincerely,

Todd Kennedy President and CEO Providence Hospital

Dear Friends,

In 2018 the Festival of Flowers celebrated its 25th anniversary. For 25 years the most talented landscaper architects, designers, florists and landscapers have done an extraordinary job of presenting floral and horticultural excellence for our many visitors. To all of our generous donors, as well as the more than 1,500 volunteers that have made the Festival possible, we thank you. The success of the past years has greatly benefited Providence Hospital.

We look forward to the Festival of Flowers 2019. Please mark your calendars for March 21-24, 2019. On behalf of the Providence Foundation, thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Jeanie Guthans Wilkins

Message from Mimi Lyons BellProvidence Hospital Foundation Executive Director

Dear Donors,

It is with a grateful heart that I express my sincerest appreciation for all you do for Providence Hospital.

You are a compassionate and giving group that has allowed Providence Hospital to continue its mission of meeting the healthcare needs of our community. This year, your generous donations allowed the Providence Foundation to fund new imaging equipment, new obstetrics and gynecology equipment, as well as major hospital renovations.

When you give to Providence Foundation, you can be assured every dollar stays local to the benefit of your hospital and the community it serves.

To our Providence family, thank you!

Mimi Lyons Bell

The 25th Anniversary Festival of Flowers, sponsored by Wells Fargo, was a huge success! On March 22- 25, 2018, under a vast canopy of gleaming white tents, a vibrant park was brought to life featuring spectacular life-sized gardens, children’s educational experiences and extraordinary guest speakers. The Festival of Flowers raised $97,000. The funds will be directed towards the purchase of external pacemakers in support of Providence’s Cardiac Care Unit.
