The recipients will be honored at the annual meeting of the society on Jan. 25. The PPS Historic Preservation Awards recognize individuals, organizations and businesses that have maintained and enhanced the architectural heritage of Providence through preservation projects and new design, according to the organization’s website. The projects receiving awards are: Rehabilitation Award, which is given to a project that rehabilitates or adaptively reuses an historic structure, interior or landscape in compliance with the U.S. Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation: ASH NYC and HM Ventures Group LLC, for the renovation of 32 Custom House St., (J.G. Eddy & Co. building, 1875, 1926, 1982.) LDRE Properties Providence LLC, for Lila Delman Real Estate International Providence offices, (George & Oliver Earle Warehouse, c. 1820) Design Excellence Award, for projects that include the design and construction of new buildings, additions, interiors and landscapes that respect the historic context in which they are built: Providence Capital LLC, for Providence G (Providence Gas Company, 1920; Teste Building, 1861; Narragansett Hotel Garage, 1923) Small Preservation Project Award, recognizing a project of less than $500,000 or component of a larger project that permits an efficient, contemporary use, while still retaining the characterdefining features and historic integrity: The Armory Revival Company, through Westminster Crossing LLC, for renovation of 425 W. PROVIDENCE – Nine historic preservation projects have received 2017 awards for architectural achievement from the Providence Preservation Society.

The recipients will be honored at the annual meeting of the society on Jan. 25. The PPS Historic Preservation Awards recognize individuals, organizations and businesses thathave maintained and enhanced the architectural heritage of Providence through preservation projects and new design, according to the organization’s website.

The projects receiving awards are:

Rehabilitation Award, which is given to a project that rehabilitates or adaptively reuses an historic structure, interior or landscape in compliance with the U.S. Secretary of theInterior Standards for Rehabilitation:

AtLarge Project Award, a wellregarded project that does not easily fit into an existing category:

Veterans for Tomorrow LLC, for Veterans for Tomorrow renovation (Heaton and Cowing Mill, c. 1845)

East Long Pond Apartments, (Stanton B. Champlin House, c. 1888 and Vincent J. Fitzsimon House, c. 1925)

Preservation Initiative Award, recognizing special initiatives or commitment to preservation values in the previous year by an individual, organization, community or group inspecific categories:
