Provider Highlight – Karrie Keen, Billing Managerat Button Family Practice

Button Family Practice is one of the larger primary caregroups in Cañon City, also providing care for those insurrounding areas. Additionally, it is a draw station locationfor Quest Labs, providing a convenient lab option for KaiserPermanente members in the area. Karrie Keen is the BillingManager and has worked for the practice for five years. Theclinic sees approximately 110 patients per day and offersextended hours and Saturday care. “The Button family has ahuge heart and they’re passionate about the community andour patients. The patient is always number one, withwhatever they need,” says Karrie.

Q: Tell us about your experience with Affiliate Link. A: I think it helps our clinic better serve our patients withKaiser Permanente plans. It’s easy to navigate and helpsespecially with deductible plans. It’s so helpful to have thatinformation to have conversations with the patient. I can letthem know exactly what their deductible is, year-to-datespending, and out of pocket costs. I can provide the answers,right there.

Q: Can you tell us other ways you use Affiliate Link? A: We use Affiliate Link to verify insurance beforeappointments and for our billing team to review delinquentclaims. I can see claims outstanding by patient, makingmonthly reconciliation a much easier process.

Authorizations Update for Low-Dose ComputedTomography (LDCT)

Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties we have beenunable to remove the authorization requirement for low-dosecomputed tomography (LDCT). We are working through theprocess to have the authorization requirement removed;however, until further notice, we require authorization for thisscreening.
