Preface Welcome to the 2016 edition of the Province of Ontario Breed Specific and All Breed Rescue Directory, a project undertaken by Speaking of Dogs. We hope it enables users to unite dogs with people and people with dogs.

Please note: It is not possible for Speaking of Dogs to obtain each individual rescue group’s policies and procedures. Therefore, it is up to each sheltering organization to acquire these details from the rescuer, prior to making the decision to release a dog into their care. Sheltering organizations may wish to question policies such as spay/neuter, foster care arrangements, housing, adoption contracts, home visit protocol, veterinary care and/or return policies.

Our volunteers have contacted each rescue and shelter in an effort to provide current and accurate information in this directory. Most rescue organizations, however, are run solely by volunteers and despite everyone's best efforts, changes are inevitable and key contact people may no longer be in a position to respond. Therefore, please let us know if you come across any changes that need to be made for the 2017 edition.
