Foreword
HIS year’s twentieth annual exhibition marks the close of the second decade in the history of T the Provincetown Art Association.
It is of interest to remember that the first ten years was a time of united effort and of co-operation to- ward a desired end, the building of a suitable gallery which was accomplished
While the second decade marked a period of u p heaval and diversity of opinion, the additional little gallery was built, and a program of two exhibitions instead of one, was arranged and has been in effect for eight summers. This annual exhibition opens at a time of readjust-
ment to a different era which many believe will result in the development of a distinctive American Art.
That progress is being made toward this end will be evident it is hoped, to observant visitors to the exhibition.
