CPS

Welcome back to Term 3. I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday. I certainly

did and I would like to thank Mrs Moran for filling in for me while I was on long

service leave.

During the holidays we were fortunate enough to have the help of Wade, Will and

Cooper Casey to assist in the next stage of our playground renovation and I would

like to say a big thank you to them and also thanks to all the students that gave up

their play over the last few weeks of Term 2 to work on the playground.

Congratulations to all the students that participated in the Small Schools Athletics

carnival last Friday and a special mention to Charlotte (100m), Madi (100m) and

Phoebe (100, 200 and 800m) who all made it through to the District Carnival this

coming Friday. Our PP5 relay team (Reece, Phoebe, Madi and Robbie) also did a

great job placing 2nd.

Over the last week it has been my pleasure to give out the first of our You Can Do It

cards. Students receive recognition for displaying the social skills of Getting Along,

Confidence, Organisation, Persistence, Resilience and Participation, as they work

towards their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. I am delighted to see so many

students on track to receiving these awards.

Today Mrs Farrell announced those students that will be participating in the STEAM

program for Term 3. The students have to submit written applications to be part of

this fantastic program and Mrs Farrell is delighted in the improved quality of

applications this term. Congratulations to Eric, Emily, Ryan, Kodie, Will and Abi for

gaining selection.

We have many things happening this term so please remember to check

Facebook and the website for information.

IMPORTANT REQUEST - After School Pick Up

To assist staff, and to avoid the risk of any confusion, we ask that all Parents & Carers

inform the school if they make alternative after-school pick up arrangements. Whether

your child is being collected by another parent or family member, we kindly ask that you

inform the school either via email [email protected] or phone 6647 6339.

Kindergarten Transition Starts this Thursday!

Don’t forget our Kindergarten Transition Program starts this Thursday,

2nd August! We are very excited to be welcoming our new Kinders

and we kindly ask all Cowper families to spread the word around the

community. If you have any friends or family who have Kinder-age

children, please direct them to CPS so that we can discuss the

program with them.

Yr 4/5/6 Brisbane Excursion

Thank you to all Families who are making regular instalments towards the upcoming

Brisbane Excursion, it is appreciated. We kindly ask that you refrain from making the final

payment until the exact cost is confirmed. We are still working with both Ulmarra and

Wooli to determine final costings and we will provide information as soon as it becomes

available.

School Photos

Please be informed the school photos are expected to arrive next week and will be

distributed the day they arrive. Thank you for your patience.

Combined Athletics Carnival at Wooli Sports Grounds

Congratulations to all students who participated at the Small Schools

Athletics Carnival last Thursday. All students represented Cowper PS

with pride and tried their absolute best. Well done to Charlotte, Phoebe

and Madison who all qualified for the Clarence Zone Event. Permission

notes have been sent home with the respective students and we ask

that notes and levy payments be returned to school ASAP. In addition,

if you are yet to pay the levy from the Small Schools Carnival, we ask

you to do so immediately. Thanks for your cooperation.

Canteen Volunteers!

Firstly, a big shout out to all the amazing volunteers who help run the

canteen each Friday; we couldn't do it without you! THANK YOU! Our

extraordinary Conveynors, Ian and Sherrie, have distributed the canteen

roster for Term 3 and have put the call out for new helpers. If you can lend

a hand, even on the odd Friday, please contact the school.

ALERT - Head Lice

There have been cases of head lice in the school and we ask all parents & carers to

adequately check their child’s hair and treat if there are any signs of lice. Thanks for your

cooperation.

K/1/2 students were treated to an extra special performance by

the U3A of The Magic Pudding, at the Grafton Library. The

children had a wonderful time and were even given a personal

tour of the library! A little play time and recess was enjoyed at

Jacaranda Park on the way home. Thank you to Mrs Moran, Mrs

Farrell and Mrs Earle for transporting the children on the day.
