Function
These additives provide a medium reduction o the surace tension o paint systems.
They increase surace slip as well as improve leveling and gloss. Silicone additives prevent ormation o Bnard cells.
These additives also improve substrate wetting and give anti-blocking properties.
Special Features and Benefts
BYK-302BYK-302 is especially used in systems in which solvent-ree additives are requested or where a requirement or a
special solvent exists. It is used in all aqueous, solvent-borne and solvent-ree printing inks.
BYK-331 BYK-331 is used in all solvent-ree and aqueous printing inks and overprint varnishes.
Special Note
In comparison to silicone oils these additives are user riendly exhibiting a minimum o undesirable side eects when used at
the correct dosage. Through a series o tests, however, it should be ascertained as to whether oam is being stabilized by these
additives beore large-scale application starts. Also, the recoatability and cratering should be evaluated.
