Every Psalm has a prophetic note.

Almost entire scale of prophecy is touched on within the Psalter.

But some of the Psalms are unique.

They are picked up by the New Testament writers and quoted in such a way that it is obvious they spoke especially of Christ.

Acts 4. 24-28 – Unholy Confederation.

Edomite Herod, Gentile Pilate & Israel.

Total fulfilment on the Day of the LORD.When the Jewish Unbelief and The Christian Apostasy will have reached

floodtide, energised by the power of Satan.

Ps. 2:1-3 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

Act 4: 25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? 26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. 27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,…

2. The Father Speaks (vv 4-6)

God does three things.

He laughs,

He speaks,

He establishes.

Ps. 2: 4 - 6 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

Ps. 37:13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

If men will not listen to His tones in grace, they must listen to his thunders in judgment.

Phi 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Divine Counsel Revealed

2. Inheritance (Ps. 89.27).

3. Iron Rod

Act 13:33 that God hath fulfilled the same unto our children, in that he raised up Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

Psalm 89:27 I also will make him my first-born, The highest of the kings of the earth.

I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

4. The Spirit Speaks (vv 10-12).

Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

4. The Spirit Speaks (vv 10-12)And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they believe not on me; of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. - John 16:8-14
