“The generous soul will be made rich, and
he who waters will also be watered himself.
Proverbs 11:25”
Daniel & Caroline Govender
It is with great joy we call
upon the heavenly hosts to
bear witness to this great and
notable day when we launch
Phoenix Survival Centre.
Since inception, this has been
the heartbeat of GCC. A small
organization lead by Daniel
Govender situated in Palm
view Drive, with a passion to
serve the poor, need, lonely,
abused and destitute women
and children in our commu-
nity of Phoenix.
It is our heartfelt belief that God Himself has called us to
administer healing and hope to the hopeless of our society,
therefore God has brought us together for such a time as
this!
The Lord has established a solid team of likeminded passion-
ate people to carry out this vision, and it is amazing to wit-
ness the synergy that God has brought among us. Their tre-
mendous commitment and absolute dedication toward this
mammoth project is highly noted.
About Us Phoenix Survival Centre is a social responsibility program
and initiative of Glory To Christ Centre, established in 2009
to provide humanitarian relief to those in needs, irrespec-
tive of colour, creed or ethnicity.
Phoenix Survival Centre is a home for abused, abandoned
and destitute women, offering them a home, love, care,
education and hope.
Phoenix Survival centre offers the following.
Welfare and Humanitarian Programme
- Care, Counseling and Education programmes relating to
abandoned, abused, neglected women. Counseling and
education programmes for rape victims, drug and alcohol
abuse.
- HIV/Aids Counseling and Education
- Crisis Counseling
- Promotion of family stability
- Promotion of community based projects for the poor and
needy persons – anti-poverty initiatives including self-help
and empowerment programmes
Since 2009, this Faith Based Organization has initiated
their involvement, and we are excited to report that this
initiative has provided relief to many organizations, rang-
ing from Old Age Home, Frail Care Centre, HIV/Aids Care
Centre, and many Community Outreach Programmes,
Senior Citizen clubs and local Schools.
In addition to this, we have provided relief to many indi-
vidual families, poor widows and senior citizen of the
community of Phoenix, not forgetting our weekly feeding
scheme at the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital and now soup
kitchen at Phoenix survival centre.
Our passion is to be of service to those who are suffering,
by sharing the unfailing love of Christ with them through
practical means.
“But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he
was, and when he saw him, he had compassion on him”
Luke 10:33
Our Involvement Our Needs We thank the Lord for the completion of the church build-
ing and by His Grace we have been offered to purchase
the adjacent vacant property at the cost of R200 000, and
have started a weekly Soup Kitchen from this property.
Currently we feed approximately 250 -300 patrons who
enjoy a nutritious hot meal under inclimate weathers.
Therefore we appeal to generous likeminded donors to
consider contributing to the project and to allow us to
purchase and construct a permanent steel structure and
seating in order for all patrons to enjoy their healthy,
sumptuous meal in comfort. The estimated cost for the
construction is R500 000 and land cost of R200 000,
totaling R700 000.
This facility will enable us to extend the feeding pro-
gramme to a daily basis and we welcome volunteers,
donors and sponsors to touch lives by feeding the poor,
needy and hungry in our community.
