Filter TipsProtective FilterIf you care about your valuable lenses you should protect each one from dust and scratches with a LENS PROTECT FILTER. These act as a “transparent lens cap” which will protect the lens but will not a� ect the exposure. Any scratches on the lens will damage the � lter – not your valuable lens.

Polarising FilterYou will need a polarising � lter if you want to reduce unwanted re� ections from non-metallic re� ecting surfaces such as glass and water. Polarisers come in two pieces, the front element of which rotates so that you can vary the angle of polarisation.

Neutral Density (Light Control) FilterThis reduces the amount of light entering the camera, enabling a longer exposure time than otherwise possible. It also enables larger apertures, which can produce a shallower depth of � eld. Available in di� erent strengths or as a variable option (2 to 8 stops in one � lter)

Close-Up FiltersThe most a� ordable way to get into close-up photography is to purchase a set of close-up � lters, which screw on to the front of your lens. The least expensive option is a close-up � lter set which has three diopters that can be combined to provide diopters from +1 through to +7. Spend a little more on a single +3 diopter achromatic � lter for sharper close-ups
