To Increase Positive Psychological Stress…
Have a routine where you quiet your mind, relax and contemplate what you are thankful for in life.
Exercise, which is closely associated with causing increased psychological well-being.
Chiropractic care helps to relieve stress and improve psychological states.
Work on improving self-esteem – we recommend the book: The 6 Pillars of Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Branden, Ph.D.
Take some time, even if it is minimal, for yourself each day.

To Reduce Negative Psychological Stress
Be conscious of what things are causing stress in your life and address them rather than avoid them (i.e., relationship and financial issues). “Avoidance” is a common, but misguided, reaction to things that cause psychological stress.
Stop consuming foods that make you feel tired or edgy (i.e., sugar and caffeine).
Balance watching the depressing news shows and reading the newspapers with inspirational and positive programming or reading.
Make a list - finish all those incomplete tasks and projects!

Health Effects of Negative Psychological Stress
Psychoneuroimmunology (one of health science’s hottest topics) Psycho means – mind or mental processes Neuro means – nervous system processes Immuno means – immune system processes
Therefore, psychoneuroimmunology is the study of the relationship between psychological stresses, the nervous system and the immune system. It is known that psychological stress leads to changes in nervous system function which in turn compromises immune function and the ability to express health and well-being. As providers of chiropractic services, this issue is a major focus of what we do and why we do it.
