Wall FormworkLIWA Panel FormworkLightweight wall formwork with cleverly designed corner solution
HANDSET Panel FormworkVariable foundation formwork with a minimum of panels
Where previously timber, boards and nails dominated shuttering operations, in extreme cases only one man works by hand but nevertheless with system. In particular, small surfaces can be realized in an extremely effective way.
SystemizedA minimum of panel widths ensure a high level of utilizationCleverOnly one connecting part is used for all panel connections – the HANDSET clip FunctionalContinuous adaptability of the panels through the Nonius grid pattern
LIWA is the lightweight panel formwork with only few panel widths and a very sim-ple corner design: at the same time, each standard panel is also a multi-purpose panel with a perforated strip. In the process, the low number of different-sized panels accel-erates the material planning and ensures easy storage in the stockyard and on the construction site.
With the LIWA multi panels, columns from 15 x 15 cm up to 55 x 55 cm can be formed in 5 cm increments. The columns are anchored with corner connectors and standard DW 15.
The brackets allow fast installation of concreting scaffold and provide a very high level of safety for the user.

VARIO GT 24 Wall FormworkFlexible girder wall formwork, also for high-grade architectural concrete surfaces
VARIO GT 24 standard panels are available already pre-assembled in various sizes. The inexpensive standard panels are designed for a permissible fresh concrete pressure of 60 kN/m² and concrete surfaces without requirements. The technical characteristics correspond to those of the VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork. When using the VARIO GT 24 girder wall formwork for project-specific, optimally-sized large elements, the following points are freely selectable:
■Girder length and spacing■Waler position, profile and length■Type and size of the formlining■Formlining fixings■Panel widths and heights, position of a possible extension or panel removal■Permissible fresh concrete pressure■Horizontal and vertical tie arrangement
The project-specific constructed 14 m high VARIO elements were designed for a fresh concrete pressure of 150 kN/m² and fitted with large-sized Fin-Ply Maxi formlining sheets.
The VARIO GT 24 formwork with defined formlining joint formation and tie positioning was specially-designed to meet the project requirements and resulted in an excellent architectural concrete finish.
In addition to walls in building construction, VARIO GT 24 elements find many applications in civil engineering, e.g. for a bridge pier as shown here.
With the continuously adjustable panel con-nections, VARIO GT 24 allows the forming of all designs and applications. It can be used as formwork project for industrial and residential construction, bridge abutments or retaining walls, for each ground plan and all heights. Formlining, girder spacing as well as tie positions are freely selectable.
Cost-effectiveVariable arrangement of formwork girders and walersAdaptableTie positioning and joint pattern design according to planning requirementsWell thought-outElongated hole in walers and couplings allow continuous compensation; the panel connection is flush, aligned and tight
■Flexible panel widths according to the length of the SRZ / SRU steel walers■Flexibility regarding the height of the panels which is determined by the
GT 24 girder length (standard lengths 0.90 m to 6.00 m in 30 cm increments; special lengths up to 17.80 m)
■Project-related planning and mounted with regard to the required fresh concrete pressure
■Use of the rigid GT 24 formwork girder leads to a minimization of the number of waler lines and tie points
■Elongated holes in the steel walers and panel couplings allow 100 % tension and compression-proof panel connections resulting in tight panel joints
■Tie positions can be adjusted according to project requirements

Column Formwork
Key criteria when selecting a column formwork
■Dimensions and cross-section of the column to be formed
■Resulting fresh concrete pressure■Requirements on the concrete surface■Required construction time■Available crane capacities
Fast concreting with comparatively small column cross-sections leads to a high fresh concrete pressure on the formwork. Therefore, the joints in particular are to be formed very carefully in order to avoid leakage problems.
Column formwork is comprised of panel formwork elements or based on individual formwork girders. In addition, for particularly high demands on the pouring rate, even-ness and concrete surfaces, steel formwork is also available.
The quick and easy adjustment of the cross-section and height with the least possible number of system components is an important criterion for the versatility of a column formwork. Furthermore, high demands are often placed on the concrete surface. As conventional fixing of the form-work results in impressions of screws and nails being left in the concrete, systems were also developed that allow flawless surfaces to be realized.

Selection criteria for a system for erecting working scaffolds
■Area of application and required working area
■Required load-bearing capacity■Boundary conditions, e.g. assembly
area, spatial conditions or possibilities of crane use
■Required geometry, also including openings and passages for material transport
■Available time window for assembly, dismantling and use
■Safety requirements regarding assem-bly and dismantling as well as scaffold utilization
Working scaffolds are temporary struc-tures which serve to create higher-posi-tioned working areas for construction site activities, on buildings or at an industrial facility. In addition, the scaf-folding must ensure that all working areas can be safely reached.
Originally characterized by timber and rope connections, the scaffolding sector has been dominated for many years now by the use of modular systems made of metallic materials. They provide shorter installation times, flexibility for geometrical adjust-ments as well as a high load-bearing capaci-ty and safety for both operators and users.
Country-specific standards and laws con-cerning occupational health and safety regulate the requirements placed on the scaffolding regarding safer erection, brac-ing, anchoring and sufficient load-bearing capacity – depending on the application.
On construction sites, mainly reinforcement scaffolding along with working platforms are used whilst narrow facade scaffolds find use on the front of buildings. Industry scaffolding serves as access and working platforms in plant construction.

Work scaffolding, such as reinforcement scaffold and platforms, can be assembled using the deck-ledger variant UDS-UHD or the deck-ledger system UDI-UH. An overall view of all the application possibilities of the two variants along with numerous references are featured in the PERI scaffolding technology handbook.
PERI UP Rosett as reinforcement scaffold: ballast is not required as long as the scaffolding is positioned in front of a wall or formwork, and can be supported by this.
The modular design principle of the PERI UP Rosett working platforms allows extensions of required levels to be easily carried out.
High load-bearing capacity as well as fast and easy assembly characterize the UDS steel decking which, after being mounted and pushed into position, is secured immediately against lifting through the decking transom profile.
The modular structure and the 25 cm grid dimen-sions of the PERI UP Rosett Flex system with the UDI decking provide even more flexibility. The indi-vidual deck is secured against lifting immediately after being installed.

dismantling■Prevailing safety regulations for assembly
and dismantling as well as use
System scaffolding also provides solu-tions for temporary access to working levels at different heights. The range of applications extends from stairs with only a few steps through to stair towers over 90 m high.
The intended use of an access determines the circle of users and thus the require-ments regarding the geometry and loads. An important criterion is the differentiation between access for construction work and access facilities in public areas.
Access to working areas at great heights on construction sites is used by personnel equipped with appropriate protective equip-ment. For the public areas, however, wide and convenient to use stairs are to be installed, also for larger crowds of people.
Accordingly, specific requirements for flight widths, the execution of intermediate land-ings and the safety equipment – among other things – are to be taken into consider-ation.
