Milford Haven and
surrounding areaMilford has long welcomed travellers. It isbelieved to be the starting point for thejourney of the vast stones for Stonehenge. In 1802 the town was proclaimed by LordNelson as one of the finest harbours hedever seen.
The fishing industry boomed in Milford andit was one of the chief fishing ports ofBritain. The landing of sixty thousand tonsof fish in 1946 was the highest recorded;however, the industry has steadily declined.Today a Fisherman Statue on thepromenade reminds the public of thesignificance of the fishing industry.
Today the beautiful Milford Haven is abusy waterway offering visitors the chance
to sail, take fishing or river trips throughoutthe year. M ilford is home to a buzzingmarina, with a variety of shops and cafesalong with a friendly town centre and TheTorch Theatre and cinema.

Haverfordwest and surrounding area
Haverfordwest and
surrounding areaNot many towns claim to be named afterfat cows. History holds that the nameHaverfordwest means " ford used by fatcows" from Old English hfar=heifer, fatcows. In local dialect, it is pronounced" harford" . Another claim is that Tudorperiod monarchs called it " Hereford in theWest" , to distinguish it from the EnglishHereford in Herefordshire.
Visitors to Haverfordwest, the county town, are greeted by the ruins of the castle beforeproceeding into the town which lies on thetidal Cleddau River. The narrow twistingstreets and main high street house a mixtureof traditional buildings, shops, cafes and acinema.
In and around the town visitors can find awealth of things to do, from visitingHaverfordwest Airfield to take a helicopterride, speeding around a go-karting track, following a nature trail or visiting the countymuseum housed in historic Scolton M anor. excessbaggagew

St Davids may only have 2,000people but it boasts a cathedral, BishopsPalace, Celtic cross, and a growingreputation as the Foodie Capital of theNorth. It also takes its place amongst thecultural heavyweights with the newlyopened Oriel y Park, the LandscapeGallery, which aims to interpret thelandscape and heritage of Pembrokeshire. For the more adventurous there is anarray of water sports in which to indulge.
It is also the only British city to lie entirelyinside a national park, the PembrokeshireCoast National Park. This provides greatwalks, all year round, in the rugged scenery.
