Hvad er Wind chill?

Wind chill eller kuldeindeks på dansk er et udtryk for den

”temperatur” ved ganghastighed (ca. 5 km/t), som kroppen

oplever, når den udsættes for afkøling af vinden.

Hvordan beregnes wind chill (kuldeindeks)?

Der findes to formler for beregning af wind chill. Den ”gamle” formel der stammer

fra forsøg med hvor hurtigt vand fryser i en lille plastikcylinder udført i Antarktisk i

1939, har dette udtryk, hvoru er vindens hastighed i m/s og t er temperaturen i

grader Celcius.Formlen er kun gyldig i intervallerne -50°C til +25°C samt

vindhastigheder fra 2 til 22 m/s. Denne formel benyttes i bl.a. DMI´s

vejrlommeregner.

Den nye formel, der er udledt af canadiske og amerikanske forskere i 2001 ud fra

bl.a. kliniske forsøg på mennesker i en afkølet vindtunnel, samt

computersimuleringer, tager i modsætning til den gamle formel f.eks. hensyn til

afstanden fra 1,5 m (typisk hovedhøjde) til 10 m's højde (standard vindmålehøjde,

hvor vinden er kraftigere).

Windchill - Software

Windchill was originally developed by Windchill Technology Inc.,

which was co-founded by Jim Heppelmann, the current President and

CEO of PTC. When PTC acquired Windchill Technology, Heppelmann

joined the company as senior vice president.[3]

Windchill first launched in 1998 and was promoted as the first to

market with an internet based PLM solution.

In 2001, Windchill ProjectLink launched as a solution for project

collaboration and in 2002, Windchill PDMLink launched as a solution

for product data management.[4]
